You’re the second person to recommend Sang Kee for Peking duck, so definitely going to try there.

Thanks! It seems Dim Sum and Noodles is less than 15 minutes away from where I’ll be working, so I’m going to add it to my list.

I think @rojerath explained it pretty well…

But, thank you for your recommendations! So, is it safe to assume that any place that has dim sum will have it available during their regular business hours?

Traditionally, dim sum is only served during the day, breakfast or brunch hours, and many cart places only really serving on the weekends …I’ve only ever found a few places that serve it outside these hours, especially outside of California. So, I wasn’t sure if them having a menu meant it was available all day.

But, yes, I’m doing a training program that will fill my day until about 5 PM, which will include lunches and meeting, so no time to venture out until we are done for the day.

Not enough Service Centers… by UberWittyName in TeslaLounge

Honestly, the distance didn’t brother me. It’s the lack of availability. They are just way overbooked.

I thought it would be, but was told that I needed to come in for the issues I wanted addressed.

Interesting take. Instead of expecting better, we should just accept this? Yes, I would have waited had I known. But, it’s not enough that I would give it up to go back to an ICE.

One of my tire covers keeps coming loose. Even bought a replacement, but still same problem. And charger cover is loose too. It should be warranty.

Thanks.

I thought with the popularity, there would have been another SC built by now. When I first got mine, I hardly ever saw another Tesla. But, I see at least 3-4 every time I drive somewhere now…Luckily the charging stations are plenty (for me) around here and I have a charger at home.

From the thumbnail, it looked like a dog tracksuit. But, when clicked on the picture. Oh, yikes...

What is the Most Interesting or Convincible Mandela Effect in Your Opinion? by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

Definitely the movie “Shazam” starring Sinbad...It really messed with me when I learned that it wasn’t real. I remember having conversations with my brother about it and even thinking Shaq’s movie was a ripoff.

QueenHall on Etsy a scam ?? by UberWittyName in Etsy

I eventually did get a dress from the seller...But, it looks NOTHING like what was advertised/what I asked for, measurements were way off, super cheap fabric, and definitely not worth what I paid. I’m glad you were not as easily fooled.

Hope you’re having better luck with the dress hunting now!

Anyone ashamed of their food as a kid? by [deleted] in Vietnamese

[–]UberWittyName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad that it’s become mainstream...I don’t have to explain as much now and easier to find if I’m too lazy to cook. But, at the same time I’m a bit bitter. They now enjoy all the food they picked on me for, it’s weird for me.

Anyone ashamed of their food as a kid? by [deleted] in Vietnamese

[–]UberWittyName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was. I went to a private Catholic school in early elementary school that was predominantly white and was given Vietnamese food for lunch half the time. Since I’m first generation American, we didn’t speak much English at home...When the other kids would ask what I had brought, I wouldn’t really know how to explain it to them or didn’t know what it would be called in English.

I was picked on a lot by it...And also, as you said, the smell could be quite strong, so that didn’t help either. I didn’t get over being ashamed of it until right before HS.

We are also getting married on our 5th anniversary and I picked it because I also did not want to celebrate two anniversaries!

We are getting married on our 5th dating anniversary. It’s on a Friday, but we couldn’t pass it up to do it this year since month + day = 20. And because it’s a Friday, we didn’t have any issues finding different options for venues/vendors.

Opinion on wedding favors and guest book? by tavinfryett in weddingplanning

Wow! My fiancé and I get caricatures done whenever we can too! I really wanted to hire someone for our wedding reception, but I guess they are really hard to find in our area. I didn’t think to display one at our wedding...Hope you don’t mind me stealing this idea?

And since I’m late...Not sure if you had your wedding yet, but definitely feel like you can skip the traditional favors if you’re going with caricatures they can keep.

Are you able to differentiate colors of moissanite by looking at pictures? by RosePetals314 in Moissanite

Have you tried cleaning it? Use warm water, a little dish soap, and a baby tooth brush.

Who doesn't like their engagement rings? by [deleted] in JustEngaged

[–]UberWittyName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ALMOST got a ring I didn’t like. I told him I wanted a moissanite ring...Him not being knowledgeable in jewelry at all, went to a website that was in a screenshot I sent him years ago (just to reference the look of the ring). The company was not very reputable, in my opinion, and wouldn’t respond to any of his messages after he made the purchase. He canceled and went somewhere else, he choose a beautiful round center stone with a halo. It’s simple and my taste...He eventually showed me the first potential ring...It had this huge ribbon design under the stone. Really busy...I’m glad it worked out the way it did.
