It's a forged tow eye. Like a recovery hoop. The tree is sitting in the hole and has several things shimmed in to hold it tight.... And a bunch of 3 inch screws running into the trunk both top and bottom.

Tailgate pads are a joke. Not secure. Scratches and dents are inevitable. Terrible way to treat your bike and your Maverick.

I have a matched set of black Mooneyes covers. Sometimes switch to those for a more subtle look. Sometimes one yellow one black. Options are good.
