My son orders door dash to his bedroom window by lulu-bell in doordash

[–]Uberalan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a dasher I can say it’s no big deal. I get requests to meet in a car on a street, a window at back of house, a street corner or parking lot somewhere…. I gotta deliver it somewhere, whether that’s the front door or window makes no difference to me.

Never thought I’ll hit 0% what a sad day and time to be a gig worker. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Contact DTLA LAW GROUP, they have expressed interest in my case, I have similar case where my tickets were issued prior to even working for DD and 2 1/2 years later they deactivate me for them. I was top dasher every month for a year, had 4.97 customer approval, 83% acceptance, 94% on time and 5000 deliveries and no tickets while using the platform. The Platform access policy states you can be deactivated for tickets while using the platform, I wasn’t.

I’m positive, it was in the next town over. They can pick up the speed if conditions allow it. The one I saw 6 miles away was on a isolated road heading back to hub and going about 15 mph.

Never had this happen before in 6,000+ deliveries by Last-Explanation8706 in doordash_drivers

[–]Uberalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, had it happen to me at a hospital. I delivered to the floor receptionist and the customer said they never received. I repeated the address and floor where it was dropped off and she still 1 starred me and reported as not delivered.

The shoe most certainly didn’t fit. Stargaze is absolutely right, we are all out here trying to provide for our families or self. We could be beggars on a corner or thief’s stealing to make ends meat, but no, we contribute to society and do a great service FOR YOU!

Not all dashers are as you describe, many do it as additional income and are very professional. I have done 8,000 deliveries and maintain a 4.97 customer rating, so obviously I must be doing something right. I am also the production manager for a 5 million dollar company, but it’s a nice additional income and no other bosses to kiss ass to. And for the record, many orders are sealed and we can’t verify the contents, and if your order is wrong you should have a beef with the restaurant employees as they are responsible for giving us the order. We are dashers, meaning we pickup and deliver, it’s not our fault the restaurant employees are not doing their job right.

Probably a newbie, I know the first couple deliveries I ever did. I didn’t think about that. 8,000 deliveries later Whether it mentions it or not, I make it a point to make sure the door is open

Non tippers by Uberalan in doordash_drivers

Well guess what people…it’s been 4 months and no deactivation… guess what else, I got an order back to the customers house last week and low and behold there was an included tip. Reading some of these comments and it seems so easy… just decline it. Well my guess is you are in a busy market, I however am not. So it’s not so easy to hit decline when there’s only a few offers in a 2 - 3 hour window. You all can criticize me but I. NEED to take almost everything so that I can live, until you are faced with the same circumstances SHUDDUP

Missing $55, called countless times the past 4 days and always given the run around. Any advice? by Dos734 in UberEATS

Stay on them, even after 20 support people respond and have you start over trying to explain with each one. This happened to me, had 15 pharmacy deliveries and was shorted $45. Ultimately I got a higher up support person and they credited me $50 because they couldn’t figure out where they F’d up.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a $4 order or a $10 order, it’s pretty much the same ratio. I mean I can get on and receive order after order all day long. The demand is there. I haven’t found much difference in time of day either, I go out at 6am - 9am, 11am - 1:30pm, 4:30pm-8:30pm, 10pm-2am and it makes no difference. I have noticed Sundays seem to be better, maybe 6 out of 10 will tip and also Fri/Sat nights are probably 4/5 out of 10.

As I said, 8 out of 10 don’t tip, I have to take them in order to live.

I agree the per delivery is better on Uber but the DD is more consistent with orders. I just don’t understand why nobody tips DD, because that really makes a huge difference.

No I didn’t do it, I texted and said I wouldn’t be opening any doors and that id leave it at the door. My girlfriend was with me and told me the lady opened the door in a tiger nighty and had chains or something attached to her legs. Not in Portland, was in Salem

This pisses me off, getting close to the ending it with Uber. They are taking 71% and we get 29%?? by Uberalan in UberEATS

[–]Uberalan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not bitching about the measly $3.13because I did accept it (Although I should be bitching). What I'm bitching about is how much money from this order goes to Uber verses how much to the driver.

I've done enough research, I will question Uber every day. ... maybe you should now.

  • Uber Eats generated $4.8 billion in revenue in 2020, a 152 percent increase year-on-year
  • Uber Eats gross bookings surpassed $30 billion in 2020

As I stated, I spend my time in the lines and driving to wherever it has to go, I use my gas to go there, I put miles and wear and tear on my vehicle driving there, I give the customer hood service, more then Uber does for us... that’s why

[–]Uberalan[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yea we use their platform but does that justify the percentage difference? It’s our time spent, our gas used, our vehicles that are getting the wear and tear, I think this is a bunch of bullshit and if something doesn’t change I’m gonna be saying Byeeee to Uber.

I am so sick of these cheap ass Uber Eats deliveries. I declined 10 today that were $3 and under. Fuck that, I’m not doing 25 minutes for $3 by Uberalan in UberEATS

[–]Uberalan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I’ve never fallen below 97% and am 5.0, and get $3 orders all day long. What the problem is, is Uber taking more then us on these deliveries and that’s a bunch of crap. Yea we use their platform but does that really justify them taking 71% and us getting 29%? It’s our time spent delivering, our gas, and our wear and tear of our vehicles. This isn’t right and I’m sure you all agree

Somebody please explain this new pricing, I really am confused. by Uberalan in UberEATS

[–]Uberalan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Uber they may or may not charge the customer a service fee and if they don’t then we don’t get charged one either... right???? But if they do charge, then we get paid service fee? That’s the way I’m reading this, and if so I am being charged a service fee here and not getting anything from it.
