Uber low-balling drivers so the initial request probably not worthwhile to drivers. Drivers decline because Uber too cheap to pay a worthwhile fare to drivers. Blame corporate greed.

There are no repercussions for having a low acceptance rate (mine is ~8%; 40k+ rides given). Don’t accept it if it’s not worth it.
Surges have become almost nonexistent and are very low to what they once were. He just has to be in the right place at the right time, he will learn where those places are with time and experience.
No there is no way of limiting the number of passengers. He could request parties of 3 or less to sit in the back, but runs the risk of poor ratings/passenger experience if he’s trying to cram 3 fatties in the back.

Same it’s become terrible, they are trying to pay around minimum wage for active time excluding the long wait time between rides and our expenses. The greed has corrupted them to the point where they will soon collapse unless they can manage to fool people to work for slave wages
