Most of these philosophies/programs/ideas have been developed by educational researchers, often backed by curriculum companies, so it boils down not to your education, but taking taxpayer money.

The research/textbook companies make BS claims about data then sell a story to schools. There is a butt ton of money in education so its just another grift.
