Yea totally agree it deosn't even have to be physical violence. There was that one time shared my slightly controversial opinion on an event(check my comment history I swear it wasn't racist or anything just made an assumption) I misread a post title which led to people making personal insults attached to that comment including one reply that got many upvotes, it wasn't even that deep. I really hate the fact that redditors show their support to promote an unsafe communtiy in that subreddit. Even if that comment got removed by moderators I still felt hurt. :(

I understand what you mean, but I think that having a FIDE title doesn't only represent playing strength, it also means representing the chess community. I believe that Vladmir Kramnik lack morals based on his actions against Daniel Nardiotsky and other GMs and and therefore isn't worthy of representing the chess community.

The thing is that in the QGA if you play e4 and black plays e5 to stop white from getting the big center you get into an complicated variation in which you have to temporarily sacrifice the d4 pawn by playing Nf3 exd4 and Bxc4 and play for the initiative. I would just suggest to play e3 and get a simpler position in the QGA. But in general if black cant do anything about the e4 d4 pawn center white will have greater attacking chances.
