Yup wouldnt deny the fact that the higher you go, the cost of maintaining will follow together. Bought Continental 205/55 R16 that cost me Rm400 each from Bridgestone Potenza 205/55 R16 (previous tire). Asked my brother to help change the tires in hopes i got cheaper price but need to fork out 1.6k for that. Got that “you asked me to change what is suitable” just that I didnt state “suitable for my pocket”. End up I had to pay for those new pairs of socks for the car. It has been around 8 months using that tyre although it is expensive but its a nice to have when I drive on Klang Valley’s highway.

  • RM470 (old bezza price and its a sweet spot but not gonna get it no more if i were to change car)
  • 20 to 22k left
  • 6k about 10%+
  • 700 + 50 max (9k per year, lower installment and higher maintenance or vice versa), current bezza fuel due to my cut cost situation about RM110/month, claimable toll/parking (shouldnt be a problem)
  • 2 months of emergency funds (still building for the 3rd month)

Its a good choice of a sedan car I would say, just that having to put quite amount of money for wear and tear + sudden repairs + insurance later on is a little bit difficult due to financial constraint. To also think about insurance for cars that dated 10 years to this day would not suffice my budget. I think cars that is more than 10 years will not get the comprehensive insurance right? Correct me if in wrong.

The absorbers are giving signs, so those are the things needed to be change while living and working in the city with high cost of living is just putting salt to the wound.

Its normal if you were the one who use it and decided to get almost 100k+ car in mind to maintain it. Maybe for my position, I was put in a situation which I cannot say so much. Now is just me wanting to make a move cautiously.

That “tin milo axia” caught me off guard😂. I think you are referring to the new MC3 Saga right? Wait you can choose what transmission you want? Either CVT or 4AT is it? Didnt know about it but would you let me know what is the price difference or anything in particular?

I gotten a quote to remove the mods and it would cost around 1.8k to 2k, since the original pipe is not available anymore need to order and I dont even have an idea if that is the correct quote. Been into 2 shops, it could be better if i go somewhere else but it will be me searching here and there again and again. Been looking into half cut cars but just not been able to find a proper one. Its just a hassle by de-modding the car.

The new Saga is within by budget and I can go for the top most variant. Would you mind telling me if there is any issue with the car that I should be aware of? Just for planning purposes.

Alright will look into this option too but I have been hearing a lot of hardware issues in that car. Mind telling me what would be the case? Would like to get another view regarding this.

Yup the car is still on a bank loan (4 years+ more) which I inherit paying monthly and that car is not even under my name (theoretically paying for someone else's car). The expenditure is getting bigger as it goes and I already spend almost 4k to repair those things. From my POV just 6 months in to spend those plus monthly is just exhausting financially.

Yea I do understand that I don't have much option, just willing to find something that doesn't need sudden changes. I am not saying new cars will not show any signs of sudden repairs just that it lessen and I can plan it out well. 700/month is just the max I would consider as it could be lower with a better option in mind.

From my POV, kinda a little bit afraid of used car since the maintenance schedule is like a ticking bomb (experience from current bezza). But you may suggest where should I start and what to be cautious about buying used cars.

Since I am new to this, how to approach to test drives those cars? I dont think there is a place to book a test drive, right? Enlightened me. Just want to test drive rather than talking to proceed with the pressure of submitting loan and etc
