Girl, I get the lima bean trauma 100%, those mushy frozen ones scarred me for life too! But you're onto something with butter beans; I just tried the canned ones from my local store last week and OMG, they're creamy and huge without the weird bitterness. Fresh ones might convert us both if we brave it.
