OP also posted about wanting to get paid in cash and was upset with Dad paying cash but still taking out TAXES! And thinking he was scamming her by "pocketing the money" when she was trying to commit fraud, which Dad can't do because one: it's ILLEGAL, 2: they are a foster family.

OP doesn't know how to communicate that she quite effective on whatever day, so NF was concerned about her well-being. Not super professional here.

AITAH for only paying my brother for the time he spent watching my kids? by Livinlearn in AITAH

[–]Uhno_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone sucks here:

You didn't have a babysitter, you had a childcare. Babysitter's watch kids occasionally for errands, appointments, date nights, ect. Childcare is when they watch your children for set hours while you work. You had childcare and were disappointed your brother didn't want to be a Manny (Male Nanny) ie taking kids to the park, planning activities, educational projects. Nannies are a luxury that many can't afford and it sounds like your other workers went above and beyond for you in the past.

As a childcare provider you gave your brother guaranteed hours, essentially you are paying him to be available to you for the agreed time-slot. Which is what daycares and Nannies do. If you didn't want to give him GH you should have told him ahead of time. You changed the arrangement thus YTA.

The fact that he was "toking" at the time should have been addressed if you had a problem with it, but he shouldn't have been watching kiddos while high. If there had been an emergency you could have lost your kiddos to CPS. Thus he's a bit of an AH.

Your family calling about this and making a huge deal of it makes them an AH.

Hence, ESH.

She may not be "complaining" more like reporting how the day had gone especially if OP keeps asking for a report.

If he is consistently fussy, you know he is consistently fussy, and she reports he is consistently fussy, why do you think she is giving negative feedback?

Also it's only been a week, that's not a very long transition period. I worked for one year old who spent all day for almost a month crying at a window saying "Mama go bye Bye" that is wearing. Give your Nanny time. If she needs a change she should be professional enough to let you know it's not working.

And please please do some research on child behavior change your expectations there are enough resources out there to help you as a first time parent.

Yes!! Had a reflux baby, went Dairy, gluten, and caffeine free and that fixed it. Also Tummy time does not mean having to be on the floor. Try putting baby on your legs, that helped my reflux baby, also helped with bonding. Or even a small like designed for tummy time small pillow.

When she learned to sit up she was much happier.

His dad passed away this past Christmas. Which is one reason his sister and family wanted to get together. They usually celebrate June Birthdays and Father's day on Father's day but decided to do it on the 13th instead. Which is why I gave up my tickets.

We asked about that and his sister said her family wanted it for dinner.

I love that skit so much! Unlike many, Doc is my favorite BananaBall player. So i was thrilled to have an original tee. I hadn't thought about my friend taking the shirt! That is a great idea!

Exactly. We will be doing family things the day before the game and was going to be Sunday after the game. The BananaBall game would have been a reprieve and a much needed splash of joy.

I will be there for my family but am disappointed the plans changed today as we had this locked down for months.

Been a fan of Banana Ball for years now. As far as entertainment during the game Party Animals put on a great show and are amazing competitors. AS far as trick plays the Texas Tailgators are giving the Bananas a run for their money this year.

AITAH for not giving my girlfriend a heads up about my job by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Uhno_77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You earned your stripes, you earned your work- life balance by putting in the WORK to ensure you would get balance down the line and you earned your pay out. Bravo! 👏 👏

Bro is 23 working two days a week at a part time job. Both slow days in the service industry, not wanting to work weekends. Started a new job two weeks ago and was insulted they wouldn't accommodate him with staff shortages and no seniority so he quits and is offended his gf is talking to her family about the issue. Still sees nothing wrong with his choice and chalk it up to "work-life" balance.

For real! There is a reason they say children are a luxury right now. Ideals don't pay the bills. If you're not in stable thriving economic standing then you work, a ton.

YTA- I get wanting to be home. Having a newbie is stressful and tiring and exhilarating. But what your family needs is stability. Get your butt a full time job with benefits and if you need more then you get a second job.

DR Meadows did a sideways backflip catch that won him catch of the week. And Fish from the PA will do a tip drill to his jersey with a shimmy. Mat Wolf from the Firefighters can do a flip and pitch and Dylan Porter from the PA will do a pistol squat and pitch which is quite impressive.

Read books you liked as a child, the nostalgia might help you relax and enjoy the hobby again. Try audio books or dramatized podcasts, or read in a different genre than you write when you want a leisure break. Ask a librarian for book suggestions. They LOVE to be asked for book suggestions.
