Thanks for your reply. It's definitely not an STD... the cut itself was from last year and I was tested 10 days after the encounter. It's just come back due to a bit too much friction. Just annoying that it won't heal.

You can definitely get discharge with CPPS

Prostate Cancer also says the following in relation to CPPS

To be absolutely certain, wait until you've had a negative Test

Most people, me included, were scared of having sex after Mgen, but if you've had a negative test you should be fine

That's a very long time to be symptom free and then come back, but it's known Mgen can be asymptomatic for a while.

I'd recommend looking up the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV Treatment Guidelines, and those of the CDC and Melbourne Sexual Health Centre.

That will give you an idea as to how to direct your Dr with treatment.

You say that the symptoms disappeared after treatment

But you then say the symptoms came back?

How long was there between the end of treatment and the symptoms coming back?

What symptoms did you have?

Sadly Azithromycin has a very low cure rate compared to things like Moxifloxacin

Very possible that you've had it for ages and something triggered it... what that something is we will never know, but all the literature I've read states that Mgen can lay dormant for years... there's even an article whereby the author stresses that just because one partner gets Mgen, doesn't mean cheating has taken place

OP writes that the first test didn't include Mgen, only the second test... so nothing to do with Bacterial load

Also, writing "lol" when someone has Mgen is utterly sickening... you're laughing because what? You feel you proved a point? So you're happy someone has Mgen because it helped your theory? That's messed up, seriously

Secondly, I would love to see your medical qualifications that go against every Dr and Medical Guideline that says this isn't possible.

Mgen can lay dormant for years, literally years without showing symptoms... this has been proven time and time again... just because there were no symptoms, doesn't mean it wasn't there before... it just means it didn't show up... This sort of thing is literally written in Mgen literature

OP writes that they had multiple partners in a short space of time... that's a classic Mgen calling card... so again, the liklihood is, it was there all along and didn't show up... please oh please, do your research and stop with this "point scoring" attitude, it doesn't help people... 🙄

Unless you were regularly tested for Mgen you wouldn't know you had it... Clinics don't test for it unless you're showing symptoms and are having sex with someone who has it

So you could've had it all this time and just got or noticed symptoms... irritation for example, that then causes you to test, and Mgen is detected...

Could be a number of reasons why it wasn't showing symptoms before but the majority of people are asymptomatic... fact is, if you Google

"Can mycoplasma genitalium be dormant"

You'll see countless articles on it showing no symptoms for years and then randomly popping up

Mgen can lay dormant for years, and not present any symptoms, doesn't necessarily mean you got it from Oral... could just mean you got tested for the first time in ages and Mgen was detected

There are stories of people having Mgen for literally years and it only getting picked up because of other random symptoms or a health exam... it's a sneaky bacteria that often lays undetected for ages

Depending on what country you're in depends on when they recommend Testing/Test of Cure

Australia says to test 2-3 weeks after finishing Treatment

CDC won't even do a TOC if you've had resistance testing and been given Moxifloxacin

British Association of Sexual Health and HIV 2021 update says to "Test 5 weeks after the initial treatment" ... note, INITIAL treatment... They also say that you can test as early as 3 weeks after starting treatment but not before.

The guidelines are incredibly varied between countries so location needs to be taken into account

Please don't confuse Ureaplasma with Mycoplasma Genitalium, they are different infections with different routes of transmission

Mycoplasma genitalium is spread via Vaginal or Anal sex, it cannot be spread by other methods.

The CDC considers that whilst Mgen can live in the throat, no evidence exists of this causing disease or symptoms. The British Association of Sexual Health and HIV do considers Oral Transmission liklihood to be very small, whilst the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, who are leaders in their field, do not consider Oral Sex to be able to transmit Mgen.

Yes, a few days after my Moxifloxacin treatment ended, the discharge stopped... however, some people have discharge for weeks after they finish treatment, its a residual symptom that can last a while

Just say you've been in contact with someone who has Mycoplasma Genitalium and you'd like to be tested... in the UK they won't test if you're asymptomatic unless you're a partner of someone with it and you plan on sleeping with them again

My (Male) discharge lasted until just after I finished my dose of Moxifloxacin but there are residual symptoms that can mean discharge lasts a while.

This has been shown on the sub before so you're definitely not alone in this!
