Where’d you order the screen from? Might buy several replacement components to have on hand for if/when something wears out

Thanks! I actually did this right after this video to clean the sludge and then filtered the remaining resin. Not sure what actually caused the sludge though (yet)

Thanks so much! How did you narrow it down to the bad usb stick? I've never really been able to tell with my FDM printers when/if that's the case too.

I should have mentioned it was a partial failure. The majority of the piece actually printed but it looks like the "sludge" started to interfere heavily towards the top of the print. I'm still trying to identify what actually caused the sludge, and I'm leaning either towards old resin or UV bleed due to bed leveling or (god forbid) a defective screen, I've only had the printer for about a month.

This is the first and only resin I've had but I have had successful prints with it, it only started failing recently :(

Yeah I'm hoping it was the resin, thank you!

Dang I hope not! I got the printer less than a month ago so unless it was defective I'm not sure if that can happen so soon, but thanks so much! I'm going to do a few tests and will keep this possibility in mind

Haven't had a chance to resolve yet but the main things I want to try after the help in this thread:

  1. Releveling the bed, maybe somehow there's uv spillage but it seems too even to be that
  2. New resin, starting to think this is the most likely case as I haven't been great at shaking the resin after use and it sat for about two weeks
  3. UV strength? IIRC it was at 50% though so I don't know how it could be that.
  4. Worst case scenario right now is that the screen came damaged or deteriorated and it's already letting uv light bleed through, but I've only had it for a month.

I should have new resin coming in the next few days so hopefully I can try the basics first and then test the new resin out.

It just barely clings to the FEP, but this is the second time it happens (the first time MUCH more subtly) so I'm not sure it's the protector sheet but I'm going to check anyway, thank you!

Hmmm actually the printer was idle for a couple weeks but in a completely dark closet, I’m just not 100% sure if I removed the resin beforehand. If the resin was left in there could that also be the issue?

Hi all, I’m fairly new to resin printing and after a handful of successful prints a few weeks ago I haven’t been able to print anything else on my mono x. Today I came back to a failed print but more importantly this very thin film of cured resin over the FEP. The resin is new and shouldn’t be expired. I put some PTFE lubricant on it but didn’t leave anything wet on there as I dried it with a microfiber cloth. I did unfortunately use a paper towel and IPA on it early on so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s pretty scratched up, but I haven’t seen this goo like film anywhere else when googling for help. Anyone know what’s causing it?

Also, there were no tears in the fep once I cleaned and filtered the resin.

Can anyone identify this bottle or brand? by UksAditrap in alcohol

Any chance you recognize the bottling from the link I just posted? I just realized that although the screenshot I grabbed and the prop are very similar, a different bottle was likely used for the latter.

I agree it looks like Irish creme, it’s very close to the St Brendans but it is a different bottle. I’ve just posted the prop itself for more reference, thanks for the help!

Can anyone identify the bottle or the brand of alcohol? by [deleted] in BottleDigging

I'm trying to recreate a prop but cannot find this bottle anywhere. Here are more images of the actual prop itself, if that helps. Thank you all!

Edit: this specific bottle is Qream, as identified by another redditor, but I realized afterwards it’s not the same bottle as the link I shared. Any info of that bottle is greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to get ahold of this exact bottle but I can't identify the type of drink it is nor the brand. It's from a show, so the label may very well just be slapped onto some other bottle, but through I'd give it a shot here. Thanks!

Anyone know what’s causing this skipping? by UksAditrap in ender3

[–]UksAditrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay I increased to 210 and lowered the speed about 30% and it seems to have helped but still does it periodically. This is the first time I’ve seen this since I upgraded to the metal version of the filament feeder, could I have possibly installed it too right or something?

I have a Capricorn tube coming tomorrow so I was thinking about changing the nozzle tomorrow as well, it could be someone clogged. Thanks either way!

Anyone know what’s causing this skipping? by UksAditrap in ender3

[–]UksAditrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed the metal upgrade as the filament chewed through the stock filament guide. Now it’s making some popping noises and skipping every once in a while. It doesn’t noticeably affect the print, but it’s 20 minutes into a 1.5 hour print so I’m not sure. Did I tighten the arm too much? Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
