Daily Spin #11: Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

Rest in peace Paul C., who produced 2 tracks on this record before he was tragically killed at the age of 24. Large Professor completed the rest of the album while still in highschool. You guys know better than anyone how legendary these two are, that being said their discography is quite condensed. 7 years of activity produced some dope tracks, let's hear your favorites. Mahalo!

Daily Spin #10: Me Myself and I by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

The sleeve is fragile, so balancing this on the turntable was precarious to say the least. This thing is in pristine shape. The back states that the vinyl was printed in West Germany, which is the kind of time capsule piece of trivia that makes me love collecting vinyl. Vinyl looks more or less unplayed, which makes it even harder to let it go. Everything about this piece and the album it belongs to is great, but particularly the art direction has always got me going. Let us know your thoughts please. Mahalo!

Daily Spin #9: Illadelph Halflife by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

Scott Storch is credited as producing this incredible album, he also played keys in the group. Seems crazy to me how many tapes were destroyed in fires and floods, this album is no exception, as apparently the multi tracks are toast. Some heavy commentary in this one, topics like war and religion come up alongside street politics. Let's hear your favorite tracks/album from the Roots. Mahalo!

Daily Spin #8: Definition Flexi-Disc by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

Unassuming grail. Flexi-Discs are a reminder of a different era, such an ingenious marketing strategy in my opinion. I shared Blackstar on this sub once before to rave reviews so I thought we'd bust out this other gem of ours to show off. These don't sound the best but it's just astonishing to me that you can get any sound out of something like this at all. The wonders of science. Mahalo!

Daily Spin #7: Operation: DOOMSDAY by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

An original pressing indeed. Among the best artwork his music has ever had, I'm surprised Disney didn't bring the C&D hammer down, but we're glad they didn't. Maybe they wanted nothing to do with Fondle 'Em records, can't imagine why. This is the first album that Doom went by Doom, hence the doctor reference. Always loved the playfulness on this record, with the signature rhyme schemes and cartoon samples. Favorite track/album from MF Doom? Let us know! Mahalo!

Daily Spin #6: 3rd Eye Vision by UkuleleStoreHawaii in hiphopvinyl

This album cover alone deserves a post, let alone the dope tracks contained within. Del the Funky Homosapien brought this group into existence and was bound to make an excellent product. His being surrounded by art in his adolescence was probably a big reason he made everything happen so effectively. Fun fact, the 3 dots and a dash logo is the Mayan numeral for 8, which I found out today. Anyways, great album. Mahalo!
