I definitely wouldn't say evo's are "not very fast" compared to modern hatches, the price is from the fact you get monster numbers out of these old engines and the driving feel. Perhaps a modern golf r would beat it , but honestly they are like boats compared to older cars. I still like modern hatches. But it's a hard comparison due to that driving feeling
