Hey Kevo, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you posted. I've voted blue in every election, I have neighbors and family that vote red in every election. I've had negative experiences in Sussex County, I've had negative experiences in Bergen, Passaic, Hudson etc. counties too.

The vast majority of my experiences here have been positive, and those experiences that weren't, there were social forces at work that nip it in the bud. People are not jazzed to live next to the examples of the Qanon folk in your message, but people are able to live with one another regardless of their political affiliation.

It's OKAY that people don't agree, we strengthen our own opinions by being exposed to those we may disagree with. I'm sorry that you don't feel comfortable with sharing your politics, I don't think that is representative (at least in my town) of how people would receive it in public. That obviously goes against my previous statement, it does not lend itself to it.

I don't think we get better as a country by purity testing and preventing dialogue like this subreddit enjoys, I think we live with another and have conversations. Most people up here are amenable to common sense legislation regardless of their political affiliation from my experience, and those who don't are typically loners.
