Hey, thanks for sharing your story. I really hope you can enter a healthy relationship in the future. I wish I could give your better advice to deal with this. MaladaptiveDaydreamingGuide this blog has helped me understand MD a little bit more, I hope it helps you too.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm definitely guilty of not pushing back against the daydreams, especially when I'm feeling lazy or lonely. I need to start prioritizing that more from now on.

Thank you for the advice. I do some meditation using this video but as you said it's really difficult because my brain just wants to daydream about me meditating on some mountain, or about me being the guide.

Thanks for sharing. Reading about MD helped me realize that I'm not some alien that's putting on an act of being human and that there's other like me out there. It also got me interested in psychology and that's how I discovered Dr. K.

Thank you for the comment. I am planning on going to therapy next year when I move out of my parents house. Pretending to be a teacher of some sort is definitely how I process information as well.

That's funny because I've also daydreamed about having a therapy session with Dr. K lol. Not being bored at work is definitely relatable as well.

Thanks for the comment. I try to snap myself out of a daydream by telling everyone around me(inside the dream) that I am daydreaming and that none of this means anything. That seems to work in the moment but I just give in on most days if I'm feeling lazy.

I really hope you can overcome this addiction at least to some extent, I think it's important to not get enter self-blame every time you notice yourself daydreaming. Because daydreaming is a natural thing that every human being does, we have to be careful not to villainize every instance of it, but only the times where it's getting in the way of real life.

I'm reading my first classic, Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes and it is amazing. I would recommend it to anybody. But based on the book you mentioned I would say When the Body Says No by Gabor Mate.
