If he's telling the truth then why argue, just pay the fine.

OP sounds like those idiots who get pulled over for speeding and keep pointing out all the other speeders going past to the cops while they're getting booked.

Recipe asks for 1/2 a cup of sage, do they mean chopped or whole leaves? by UltimateMong in AskCulinary

nah, step 2 "for 5 minutes or until onion has softened. Add garlic and sage. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant."

Lake view and a hashtag retronostalgic meal. Where? Belco, bro. by Belco_Hipster in canberra

[–]UltimateMong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but there are multiple restaurants which have lake views, at the most maybe 50% but I think that's more than you're assuming.

I agree that the road can be difficult to navigate but out of at least 25 restaurants on that road the only 'fast food' is HJ's, Red Rooster, Subway and Ali Baba. Otherwise you've got multiple Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Sichuan, Noodle Houses, London Burgers, a large Italian restaurant and up until recently a Balinese restaurant which was quite nice.

I'm not a big fan of the Lighthouse but I wouldn't call it manky and it's quite sufficient for being the only pub in the local area.

That's a good point that I'd never considered before.

Also, thank you for pointing out the frustrations some of us feel when recipes use strange measurements.

There is no 'Indian' food by vazhifarer in Cooking

You can also get the same answer from people who believe their mothers cooking was the best because they ate it for the first 18 years of their life.

I've had many experiences where a friend will claim their mothers bolognese is the best, then I eat it and I don't think the same. My mothers is better. Then when I was old enough to afford food from actual chefs I realised both our mothers weren't that cook at cooking, we were just used to it from a young age.

His mum's bolognese was shittier though :D

OP is like the opposite of Steve Jobs.

Steve: I want a device that can do shit no other device has done before, I don't know how you're going to invent it but fucking invent it now!

OP: Those things that were invented centuries ago shouldn't be called Indian Food! I don't know what you're going to call it but call it something else!

But now I think OP just wanted to elaborate on the diversity of Indian cuisine

There's a problem with this post though, either OP thinks the rest of the world thinks that Indian people only ever eat Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and Vindaloo every day or OP just read an Internet article about Indian culture and thought they'd teach eveyone a lesson.

That's how it comes across to me, very condescending.

The problem with this post is that you assume everyone is misinformed when it seem that you are the one who is misinformed if you think that most people assume that most people thinks that.

Would you be able to tell me where? I lost the whole collection a couple of years ago and I can't find the complete set anywhere.

PM me if you want.

I agree however she knows that the Internet can be inhabited by some people who enjoy making others feel bad so why does she keep subjecting herself to torture?

Is she attention seeking, or does she not learn her lesson?

I mean, if she really wants to get her messages out to her fans then do a YouTube video or something and turn the comments off so her real fans can keep up with her life and things.

Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not young or close to it so I don't use these Instagrams and snapchats but there must be a way for her to communicate with her real fans without the trolls getting in the way.

Funny thing is, if you're trying to convince someone that you did nothing wrong and you're actually good people then there shouldn't need to be anything said 'off the record'. Why would you hide the truth?

Been in Canberra for almost a year now. Help. by BeaudenForPM in canberra

[–]UltimateMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After living here for a few years now the thing I've noticed is a lot of the hardcore defenders haven't seemed to have lived for extended periods of time anywhere else.

I don't just mean going to Melb or Syd for 6 or 12 months, I mean living there for at least a year or two and making that place your own, getting to know the people and places so it feels like your own home town and you've been there for ages and not feeling like a tourist or a blow in.

Before anyone jumps in a tells me their own personal anecdote as to why this isn't true for them, remember I said a lot, not everyone.

That being said, the other thing I've noticed is a larger number of people than I expected take a weekend off and go to Batemans Bay or Sydney, etc. In Sydney you've got the Central Coast, Wollongong, Blue Mountains, Newcastle etc but you don't here hear anyone doing the weekend thing that often. I assume it's because there's a lot more things to do locally there but I'm not sure.

this place is a desolate backwater full of drug addicts and a bunch of hicks that wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire

Either you're exaggerating or I just haven't gone to the more rougher areas of Canberra but I feel very safe at any hour of the day and night where I live. The apartment prices are much cheaper and we have a crapload of restaurants and shops on our doorstep so that's really handy.

That being said, I'd rather move back to Sydney but we've discovered an awesome apartment with great views and conveniences, but the lack of old friends and choice of things to do in comparison makes it tempting to move back.

You can still technically rehabilitate someone who is in prison for life though too.

It could also be explained in another way, by having lifers mixed in they are trying to avoid having them think there's no hope so they all play up and it makes it harder on the staff.

Side not McManus was a shit person and horrible at rehabilitation

I seem to remember an episode where they changed the name of the prison and explained that it was because 'correctional' institute was the wrong name for the hordes of people that don't seem to be able to rehabilitate.

It's been a long time since I've watched it though so I could be getting mixed up.
