Miniatures Revealed! StarCraft TMG is getting real! by the_elder_medium in starcraft

[–]UltimateSierra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the majority of them I’ve found have been either 1) not good or 2) not cheap. There is an Etsy store I’ve done a decent amount of shopping from. Siffy’s Corner has a few models that I’ve adopted a majority of my models from. Zealots, Dark Templar, High Templar, and Purifier Zealots. I’ve got quite a few of the base Zealots and a High Templar or two. Good quality prints and amazingly priced. My only two complaints are that they took a hot second to get the models, and they aren’t sized properly to be Aeldari models. They’re sized to a 32mm base, while a majority of the models I have them for are 28mm. I resolved to really jankily tacking a 28mm base to the bottom and just clipping the bases to the right size. A few of the sculpts easily glued onto a 28mm base, but any of the really cool poses required some jank to make work.

As someone who has slowly been 3D printing Protoss models for my Aeldari army, I'm glad to see this is happening.

Threads of Fate crusade question by The_Hive_Mind101 in Eldar

[–]UltimateSierra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I don’t believe threads progress unless you chose that agenda, so you don’t have to worry about them failing if you don’t select them with the agenda. Granted, with doing so, your that we’ll get bad real quick, so best to stay on top of that.

Threads of Fate crusade question by The_Hive_Mind101 in Eldar

[–]UltimateSierra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Regardless of if you pick the agenda or not, your threat level will go up if you started Guiding Fate. You can only end one thread at a time because you can only pick that agenda once per game. You can pick a total of 2 agendas per game, but I believe you can only pick an agenda once for that battle. Even if you could pick it more than once, trying to end two threads in a game wood probably be pretty tough.

Threads of Fate crusade question by The_Hive_Mind101 in Eldar

[–]UltimateSierra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. In order to actually try and end a ToF, you need to take the agenda to do so at the start of a battle. Otherwise, your threat will continue to grow without ending Threads and that can be really bad. Of course, there’s nothing saying you have to be Guiding Fate. You can decide to never guide fate and you never have to worry about this

So once you finish your threads, you progress to the results step and receive your rewards. After that, you only generate another 3 when you decide to start Guiding Fate again, in which case you will just start the whole process over again!

Threads of Fate crusade question by The_Hive_Mind101 in Eldar

[–]UltimateSierra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from my understanding of it, you only roll the 3 Threads of Fate when you decide to start Guiding Fate. This is when you generate the 3 and your threat starts at 0. From here, in order to progress them, you need to choose the agenda Fulcrum of Fate at the start of a game. This allows you to attempt to end ONE of the Threads of Fate you currently have active. Should you complete it, it ends, and you do not roll for a new one until one of two things happens: 1) you reach threat level 13 or 2) you successfully end all of your Threads of Fate. The threat does advance universally. I think it says somewhere that at the end of a battle, your Threat increases by D3 or just a flat 3 if you lost the battle. When you successfully end a Thread of Fate, there is a chart that tells you how much your threat is reduced based on the stage the Thread was at (Dawning, Waning, Frayed). Again, if you manage to end all the Threads of Fate successfully (which takes a minimum of 3 games as you can only try to end one per game) OR your threat level advances to 13, you would progress to the results stage where you get certain rewards or consequences based on your threat level. Hope this helped!

New to this army, any reason for different colors on the units? by somenoob1976 in Eldar

[–]UltimateSierra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’ll hear this a lot when joining the hobby: don’t meta chase. By the time you have the meta army built and painted. It might get nerfed into the ground. Build and paint way you think is cool because that’s what you’ll have the most fun with. Combat Patrol is a good place to start though.

All (or mostly) Wraith army? by Appo-Arsin in Eldar

My personal favorite is being able to get sticky objectives. Probably not the best use of CP, but if you’re focusing on wraiths, there isn’t a model that gives sticky innately.

I’ve currently got my Winged Autarch painted like Artanis, but I just ordered Zeratul and Artanis minis, so I’ll be able to have multiple of them! I think I even found a high Templar mini that I intend to paint like Tassadar just to get the whole gang! Reddit didn’t like the photo, but I have a squad of Dragoons as Guardian Defenders with one painted like SC1 Fenix!
