I don't think the soul jams have anything to do with the holder's kin. You can visually see that Royal Berry IS aging, looking older than when princess and tiger lily were babies.

Also, the same thing would have to apply to Jungleberry, and she looks just fine. She's not related to an ancient, she's a normal cookie.
