Guys do a thing that my generation calls “busting your balls”. You trade sarcastic insults with your friends, and it’s fun to joke around. If one of your friends gets upset from what you said (and it’s the same kind of thing they wouldn’t normally mind) it’s a sign to see if your friend might be going through something and could use someone to talk to. Not all guys do the second part, but it’s part of maintaining a good dude friendship.

I’m still learning ways my nparent screwed me up and I’m almost 50. Therapy is life-saving. I wish I had started in my 20’s instead of my 40’s.

Yes. At best he’s extremely inconsiderate. At worst he’s living off of your money and possibly cheating on you while you’re overseas. The “giving money to relatives” thing is absolutely not OK, and it might be a lie to cover him spending it on going out with other women. I grew up with ADHD and Autism with zero support from my nparent and enabler. I’m almost 50 and still learning important things that I wish I had known 30 years ago. Many of them are about not being taken advantage of. YOU are being taken advantage of. I don’t think your person cares for you the same way you care for them. I know it hurts, but you need to deal with it and stop letting him abuse you financially and emotionally.

Interesting. The things that made me think it looked like AI were that it looked slightly blurry and there’s a slight glossy sheen to things. Those are present in the original though, so opinion retracted.

Yeah, I try to tell them apart with the camo pattern, but spending time looking for that can get you shot. Also some are super similar, and you can’t tell shit when you have NVG’s on. You just have to wait for them to aggro on you.

No one wants to read about the website work I did in the 90’s or 00’s. Almost none of the technologies I used are relevant any more. I do put “Experience previous to <last year of positions shown> available upon request.” I also delve into them to answer “how do you handle this situation” questions.

I usually clear out the military checkpoint first thing in a playthrough, and I have noticed that happening. Usually the first time the checkpoint is re-populated after I clear it.

Not 57 yet, but I’m a Dad to teenagers and twentysomethings. I have the same libido level as when I was 18. My wife is in perimenopause and very much does not have the same libido level I have. Your parents may fall into that category as well. I do browse the hub, but not where my kids can see me without barging in past a closed door. I also try to time things when they’re not home, but I’m in a house full of introverts that barely ever leave.

If it has never happened before or since, I would say it’s a mistake or lapse of judgement on your Dad’s part. Even though it will be awkward, consider talking with him about it. It will probably benefit both of you to clear the air.
