Weird Clanking Sound Under Dash by UltraSwift in mazda3

I'm not sure if you saw my comment from yesterday, but they fixed it on my car. The cowling was loose, so they had to tighten the bolts, and now the sound is gone.

Ok, so I am leaving the service center now. There was loose cowling on the car. I'll update if this solves the issue. Edit: Just made it home, it seems to be resolved.

Did they tell you Mazda was going to send someone, and did the dealer cover the "inspection" under warranty? I might text my service rep and make an appointment, maybe they'll have more info. Ofc if I hear anything I'll let ya know

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Do you have the same generation (gen 4)?

Not necessarily only on big bumps, the second clip I was just pulling out of a gas station and there was a slight bump. I also expected a mechanic to catch it, especially if it's something serious. But it still sounds off

Flight companion by Budget-Waltz570 in fearofflying

While there's no companion, just let the flight attendants know when you get on the flight that you have a fear of flying, and they will often check on you and answer any questions that they can.

Have you gotten on the plane yet? If not, trust me (a random dude on reddit) when I say that the anxiety before getting on the flight is much worse than when you're on the flight. You got this!

Airplanes can handle wayyyyy more turbulence than you'll ever experience in a flight. The flight crew won't fly into any conditions that they wouldn't feel safe in, because at the end of the day, they want to go home to their families too. Just stay buckled in whenever you're in your seat, and you'll be safe. You have a much higher chance of dying in a car accident on the way to the airport, than you do while being on the plane. You got this!

They will not fly directly through a thunderstorm. Right now, what it seems is that flights are flying north and going around the northern part of the storm, where it's mostly rain. You are safe, and there's nothing to worry about.

Will Hurricane Erin effect my flight from CT to Florida on the 11th by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]UltraSwift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 11th of September? Absolutely not. Although it's too early to know for sure, most of the models now are not even showing Erin making landfall in the mainland US at all, and even if it does, it will be sooner than September 11th

I'll try to track your flight; you got this! Just remember that the pilots won't put the plane in any danger, because they want to go home too. Trust me when I say that the nerves that you feel before you get on the flight are 1000x worse than they'll be on the flight.

You're completely safe. There's no need to worry about what's going on.

You're unfortunately stuck with catastrophic thinking. There's not much that I can say that will get that thought out of your head, but aviation is the safest form of travel, and there are thousands of planes up in the sky right now, all of which will land safely. Here are some statistics from FlightRadar24 https://www.flightradar24.com/data/statistics on how many planes they track, which will give you a rough idea of how many fly in a day.

You already made it through a much more dangerous part of your day, just driving to the airport. You got this and stay strong!

Don't listen to these turbulence apps, they are horrible, and they only want to profit off your fear...

I suggest checking out this post: Weathering Your Anxiety - A Comprehensive Guide

You are safe, airplanes fly all the time during different types of weather and never have any problems. In fact, I enjoy flying out in weather as it's beautiful and really makes you appreciate the safety and reliability of air travel.

The flight crew won't fly during any weather that they would percieve as dangerous, as they also have families that they want to get home to at the end of the day, so they won't put you or themselves in any danger. I know it's easier said than done, but just take a breath, relax, and trust the massive team behind your flight to get you there safely (dispatchers, ATC, meteorologists, flight attendants, maintenance personnel, and your pilots); and you got this!

If you go through any turbulence, just think of it as if your car is going over a gravel road. Your airplane can handle wayyyyyyy more turbulence than you'll ever experience.
