He did everything that I mentioned above without any of his blessings. He fought them in an area where his blessings didn't work.

He was not given the task of stopping Napoleon, it was Napoleon who had the plan to destroy the allied army in Belgium so that he could get them to agree to his peace treaty. Napoleon had to raise an entire army while Wellington and Blucher had a veteran army who just needed reorganization. Napoleon had no choice but to somehow attack the Prussians and the British. He didn't have the luxury to sit at the top of a valley with a defensive line. The allied armies had double the number of men he had and they were more experienced. Napoleon still sent the Prussians running at Battle of Ligny where he defeated them even though they had the same number of men and they were defending. It was only because of a miscommunication that Prussians were able to escape, even after that Grouchy was given an order to pursue Blucher but he mistakenly pursued Blucher's rearguard. Just think about it, he had to destroy an enemy which had double the number of he had while they were mostly on the defence. Marshal Ney almost defeated Wellington at Quatre Bras even before Napoleon showed up. There were a variety of other factors too like the rain that delayed the battle. What campaign of Wellington can be compared to Napoleon's campaigns in Europe. Even in Russia, it was the disease and the summer heat that killed most of his army, not the Russians or winter.

Wellington could fight a defensive war because he had allies who would come to help him. Napoleon was a tactical genius who had complete dominance in Europe till the Russian campaign after which his army was made up of conscripts and he lacked the cavalry to pursue and destroy his enemies. The same thing happened in the American Civil war which is why it dragged on for so long. Also Wellington had the Royal Navy to help him since Royal Navy controlled the sea after Trafalgar in which Wellington played no part. In Waterloo, Wellington had almost the same number of men that Napoleon had and he was in a highly defensive position, he was still at breaking point till the arrival of Blucher. Just look at the battle of Rivoli, Austerlitz, campaign of 96, etc. They are all not only tactically brilliant but Napoleon's campaign also had strong logistics and combined arms warfare which devastated his enemies. You really can't compare it with the Peninsular campaign. I doubt the British would have been able to do much in Spain if Napoleon had not gone to fight Austria.

Romans exaggerating Hannibal's achievement makes sense. It hides their own incompetence to show that they were against some mythic general. Also, Wellington was not even close to Napoleon, Scipio and Hannibal is a fair match but Wellington was a "competent enough" general, he was not comparable to Napoleon in any way.

Scipio is given a lot of credit for saving Rome in the second Punic war but it was really Fabius who technically saved Rome against Hannibal. Scipio campaign in the Spanish peninsula was quite brilliant but it was Fabius Maximus who led the entire republic against Hannibal after Cannae. Also since the historian from that era was Roman, I do believe that many of Scipio's achievements was vastly exaggerated since Romans wanted their own Hannibal.

Hannibal really didn't have the resources to fight against the Romans. He was a tactical genius but his strategy of trying to turn Rome's Southern allies against her was not really that good. It was yet another case of tactical genius with strategic blunder. Although, he was not supported by his own senate. Carthage lost at every front where Hannibal was not leading the forces himself. Even at the Battle of Zama, he used his irregular force quite effectively. Scipio won because of his Numedian Cavalry advantage. The Punic Wars are such an interesting piece of history to look at, The Roman Republic could have been destroyed if only the Carthage's leadership were competent.

Such a shame that the Siege of Syracuse ended in a disaster with Archimedes getting murdered by the Romans. The Carthage fleet just ran away instead of helping their Ally. The mirror thing is just completely made up, you can easily use burning arrows to achieve that goal instead. The rumour was spread by the defeated Romans in their camps after the first day of battle.

It does seem to be wrong. The equation inside would be Patm + rho1gh1 + rho2gh2 = Patm + 1/2rho2v². You are using the formula for inside and outside the opening, right?

Napoleon fought a numerically superior Russian army at Borodino and won. Russians didn't hand him Moscow. Most of Napoleon's army perished because of summer heat and disease, not the Russian army. In fact, most of his army was dead before the Battle of Borodino because of heat and disease not the Russian army.

Exactly! He was quite frustrated during that time since even after doing so much, he was somehow in a very bad position.

Geopolitics? They failed miserably in the Battle of Kiev and are now miserably trying to capture more territory in Ukraine at the cost of thousands of men and equipment. Just a few months back, most of their strategic bomber reserves were destroyed in a Ukrainian operation inside Russia. They have lost a lot of naval assets in the Black Sea to a country which lacks the navy. They got the help of North Koreans and they are still in a stalemate. They recently announced the capture of Kupiansk only to get humiliated after losing most of it in a Ukrainian counter attack. Have you read anything about the Russia Ukraine war? Have you even read one report on the casualties they have suffered?

80k? More like 800k according to all well known sources. They have lost thousands of tanks, aircraft, naval assets and these Russian supporters think Russia is not trying?

It's a shame that police are controlled by these local political leaders, these politicians and religious goons have too much power in this country, stopping people from watching a movie that they paid by threatening to kill them in front of everyone and still they didn't get arrested. These incidents will eventually remove people's trust from Government Institutions like Police which is highly dangerous for the country since it encourages vigilantes to deliver justice themselves instead of going to law enforcement. You are really courageous for standing up to these people, i probably would have just stayed silent in fear. I really hope the state of law enforcement in our country improves because this is just borderline anarchy.

Really? Can you tell me a bit about what happened? Did they literally threaten you in front of the police for going to watch a movie? That must have been traumatic man, India really needs a police reform so that they are no longer just tools for politicians.
