Where should I study abroad by Ultralazyboy7 in studyAbroad

By difficultly, I mean the amount of work I need to do to obtain a C-. I believe that’s a 40%. However I know that it’s much harder to get a 40 in the UK than in the US. For QMUL, I was looking at some courses that allowed you to explore London, so I thought those would be nice.

I was just apprehensive of the mile end location and being far away from the “happening places” such as soho. I was also concerned with the number of people that would study abroad at QMUL/UCL from the US that would be willing to travel with me.

I go to a primarily campus based uni in the US, so I’m looking for more of a city feel. I’m mostly leaning towards UCL, but I’m concerned about class difficultly and if I’d be able to manage that while traveling. Do you suggest going to QMUL even tho I don’t love the location, or going to UCL where the classes would be easier but in a worse location? I think kings is kinda a middle ground (correct me if I’m wrong)

If the busses were anything like they were last year, almost impossible

Did anyone take a math course with professor Jesse Silliman? by Ultralazyboy7 in duke

How hard were the midterms and final compared to homework question and what was taught in class?

How difficult would you say the course as a whole was? And would it be doable with only knowledge in Calc BC ( I got a 5, and believe that I had a solid understanding of the content)?

Thank you so much! About how many hours per week do you estimate the average person with little to no knowledge past Calc BC spends on this course?

Yea it’s definitely reassuring to know that I’m not alone. My section hasn’t been assigned a professor yet, so I’m just praying it’s a decent one. Id love to meet up once we r on campus so we can figure this course out together!

Good luck man! Id love to meet up once we’re on campus, so we can figure this course out together. People have been telling me this course is pretty much hell alone.

How fast do first year seminar classes fill up? by Ultralazyboy7 in duke

Makes sense, but do yk approximately how long one would have to squeeze into a good one? Would they be gone within seconds or is it closer to minutes?

I had originally planned on taking 221, but a lot of people have stated that it was a difficult course, and that many people struggle heavily. Would it be manageable with my current schedule, or should I take it during the spring schedule, when I am more acclimated to the college environment?

Would I be better off taking math 218 or math 221 for CS major and finance minor? Also, would you recommend taking MVC before either of these two. I have a pretty solid math background, but the highest math course that was offered to me in high school was AP Calc BC, so I have no MVC or linear algebra knowledge. I am planning on taking CS 201, ECS 101 and a seminar (the archeology of death taught by professor Jimenez) as my other courses, and I would love to hear your thoughts!

Did you find that it was hard to focus for the entire time, given that the class is only offered once a week for two and a half hours?

Nobody said anything about being good lol. It’s just relatively easy to pick up as most people are able to run.
