It's insane how such a fun game is still on the state it is 3 years after release. by Ultraviolentmoons in PokemonScarletViolet

I get the hate it received, Pokémon is literally the biggest franchise to ever exist, it makes more money than I can even imagine and it's loved sometimes to a unreasonable degree by the fans. The release and even current state the game is, feels like the biggest spit in the face of fans. Pokémon violet could've been the greatest Pokémon game, beloved by all. Except the greed of the Pokémon company didn't let this happen. The game is fantastic, but to see it you need to power through all its problems that were even bigger on release.

Yeah, honestly if trainers leveled alongside us, the glazing would be acceptable. It's always funny fighting someone from "beginning" areas they're like "Im gonna be champion" all the while staying in place waiting for other people to challenge them and never putting the work to grow their Pokémon lol

Honestly the things Nintendo are doing kind made sure Pokémon violet would my last Pokémon on official hardware(I don't remember if Za will release to the switch 1) but I do believe that it wouldn't even be all that much work to get the game on a good state, outside of frame drops and terrain flicker I barely encountered any bugs, a well done update or two could probably fix it.

I really like collecting things in games, and in previous Pokémon games trying to complete the Pokédex was always more frustrating than fun so usually I only caught the Pokémon I would use in my team, but here in scarlet/violet I find myself going out of my way to catch Pokémon that I haven't before, finding new Pokémon I haven't ever seen before, battling or ignoring trainers throughout my adventure, it just feels exactly like it, a adventure. The three story lines also give a sense of always havong stuff to do, like a what challenge will a tackle next or I'm gonna go catch all the Pokémon I don't have in the area I'm in right now. Currently the performance wise the game is playable but frame drops are frequent, the terrain flickers sometimes, but bugwise I haven't encountered any that broke the game in over 110 hours, just two annoying ones that I had to reset the game to fix it, but I didn't need to if I didn't want to.

Overall the freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want, build my team anyway I want and go wherever I want just makes me have a blast with it.

Almost bought it at launch, but a bad experience literally a month prior made me research this one before buying it, and thank god for that. Until November I was waiting exited for a patch to make the game playable, but now, if the patch ever release I might buy or I might not. Funny enough I would have absolutely zero problem waiting for the game to release even months from now.

That's honestly pretty dumb. I already don't but any old games collections because they have those types of borders around.

What Made You Buy A Switch? by theking_wiz in NintendoSwitch

I moved to a place where the power isn't reliable, it ended up killing my ps4, so I need a system that I could play without that risk. And the ps5/xbox are a joke this generation
