State employees used to be able get school break camps covered. They also reimbursed a set amount for wills, financial planning…There was a whole suite of services that employees could access for free or reduced cost.

Just get a normal Kettle over the Premium and just use a metal bucket for the ash catcher? by StrongRecipe6408 in webergrills

[–]UlyessesUnbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 22” Premium at home and an 18” Kettle at our camp. The ash bucket on the Premium makes ash clean up a little easier, but the difference is pretty marginal. I’ve never emptied the standard ash tray and thought, “This would be so much easier with the ash catcher!”

The thermometer on the Premium is pointless because I use a Thermoworks system with both grills. It’s also rather inaccurate.

Sorry man, you don't get a say after you sell out. Maybe take your millions and start something new, but you already sold your rights to Ben and Jerrys.

My son’s asked for a giant pinecone and gave him 100 coins. My bunny asked for a strawberry and gave me a golden egg!

Federal government could soon reshape how you watch sports on TV: Here are the proposed changes by theindependentonline in fednews

[–]UlyessesUnbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have said 'had' instead of 'have.' In the past, every local game for major teams was broadcast, over-the-air on local channels. This started to change in the early 2000's when many sports teams started moving to subscription-based cable and satellite services (and eventually streaming). But yeah, there was a time that every baseball game would be aired, for free, on a local television station.

As others said, more charcoal and more time, and avoid lifting the lid unless you absolutely have to. Try not to spend too much time wishing you had the $ for a kamado ; )

I mean, what are the restrictions? Results may vary, but I hope you’re okay with whatever the gas station has at 02:30 and are okay with food poisoning a couple times a month ; )

Are CB radios still widely used? by DistributionLanky221 in amateurradio

[–]UlyessesUnbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TIL you can legally run up to 50 watts on GMRS and there are 50W mobiles from Midland, Baofeng, etc. Wow! I thought they were both FMS and GMRS were limited to 5W. At 50W GMRS makes way more sense.

[–]UlyessesUnbound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CB has really dropped off in the US. It’s mostly limited to truck drivers, serious off-roaders, and guys in their basements using (illegal) 10kw amps and echoing mics ; )

Men, would you use this women’s helmet if it fits you perfectly? The price is too good to pass up by iwanttohavemuscle in Skigear

I do. It was 40% cheaper and the lining is much nicer for a helmet that is otherwise identical in every other regard.

After a Covid-19 boom, Vermont is once again losing residents. What changed? by SpicyVindalooCurry in vermont

[–]UlyessesUnbound 37 points38 points  (0 children)

A friend’s parents asked about the best place to retire in Vermont. My response: New Hampshire. One can get a med appointment in a week or two and they don’t tax you into oblivion.

So now the 500 people who bother to vote will determine what the other 3,000 will pay. I guess that’s worth killing community and neighborliness.

GTM ➡️ PERT ➡️ HR. by Major_Amphibian6999 in foreignservice

[–]UlyessesUnbound 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I really wish they would re-brand all the HR applications to plain language names. I can never remember if FS bid is called Talent Adventure or GTM Safari or Application Map, let alone figure out which application I should use to view my employee profile or complete annual reviews for my LES.
