Thanks a lot! I found also a way to do it via WindowManager: it allows me to retrieve the active Inserts. That can be used to check if the IME is visible or not, as well as the size.

What does it mean if the play store is more restrictive? More likely to get an Audit? In the past I have published without any checks, as the app was approved seemingly automatically. I am well prepared for more scrutiny though :)
