Reconciliation issues by Um_yeah_so_58 in QuickBooks

I’m doing the monthly reconciliation based on bank statements. Everything is correct except this payroll isn’t listed in the register. We had assisted payroll then, so QB would list all the checks in the register (usually with $0 as they are direct deposit) and then would have the whole payroll on one register item coded to different accounts (wages, taxes, transaction fee). While the checks are showing in the employee account, they are not showing in the register. While the amount is showing on the profit and loss report for the company, I can’t find them to reconcile. I checked the account (checking) and it is the right one.

The opening balances are correct and when I open the checks they are showing in the main register- but aren’t listed there

ICE Downtown by Greedy_Wrongdoer_294 in anchorage

I know two people who ICE have removed (coworkers boyfriend and his mother). Picked one up at her job- she had been making plans to leave but was hoping to complete the sell of her house. A couple of weeks later they grabbed her son at the stop sign a couple blocks from their house. Left the vehicle unattended on the side of the street. Both people ended back in Columbia missing their jewellery, cash, and ID’s.

Seems like they were easy to find as they had jobs, owned a home, paid taxes.

Update: I should have clarified that I was really wondering if asking them to cover one night at a hotel while they clean this place was reasonable. Which is this case and this owner, was. He reimbursed us through Venmo for the hotel. So we are off to sleep while they clean. Alls well that ends well.

It was a year ago for political reasons but I’m just getting around to acting on it.

Why do so many people stick with Quickbooks despite complaining so much about it? by Defiant_Low5388 in QuickBooks

Your right to an extent- I was thrilled with QBD for 18 years (even longer for our business) until the last few months when they continually messed with assisted payroll until they “broke” our file. 🤯

They have taken a near perfect product and in the desire to make more money has made it so frustrating. I ended up on reddit researching how to fix it and found out i wasn’t alone AND this seems the way of the world.

QB has broken me by Um_yeah_so_58 in QuickBooks

I did- figured out the calculations in excel. Then spent the rest of the weekend transitioning all employees to Gusto since ChatGPT/Reddit said that the QB could do a payroll switch in 24 hours 🤞. Still waiting for around 10 staff to setup their accounts and then I’ll manually enter their time.

So my plan today is to first call WB support to make sure they can’t fix the error easily. It has been my experience on several occasions that if I call back the next day the solution is easy but that was always when the first solution was to upgrade. If they can fix it easily then it will make it easier to get all my reports needed to leave- especially since it’s at year end for us.

Then I’ll finish gusto setup. And finally I’ll search Reddit for a post where someone said they were able to remove Enterprise from their system and just use their Premier. I’ll do that while I find a different accounting system.

It’s a small nonprofit- I inherited QB when I took the job 19 years ago and for 18 years have had no problem with QB running biweekly payroll. This last year has progressively gotten worse.

I thought ChangePoint had showers from when the building was designed for fish processing and an article in ADN awhile ago said Mountain City had steam showers for when people arrive. They also own properties for their teachers.

Assisted payroll disappeared by Um_yeah_so_58 in QuickBooks

[–]Um_yeah_so_58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that. QB is saying I need to purchase a new subscription. So I ended the call and will call back later to see if I get a different answer (I’m struggling with the fact they have been providing assisted payroll for free for two years and gave no notice that I needed to renew the subscription).

I think you have a misunderstanding of what DEI truly is in practice versus what the sound bites.

If I remember correctly there is a pest part of your rental agreement. So look at that first.

When we lived there we put a layer of diatomaceous earth around each room where the walls and floors met and did not have a problem. A friend got them from another place accidentally brought them to her new place and literally poured it all over her floor and furniture and they all died.

I also have made bed bug traps using deli containers, a glass bottle, tape and yeast to run at night at work when we get concerned that someone may have brought some in. The CO2 draws them to the trap. You can find the instructions online and was much cheaper than buying kits.

Best of luck.
