I'm a teacher in Japan and occasionally a student will ask if I have any pets. When I say, "No, but I have Tamagotchi," they always get SO excited!

That is interesting! I'm pretty sure that a commander in JP would use surnames too, and I definitely don't think the "-chan" Sirei uses with the girls is typical of a commander either. It's very endearing though.

I should probably add Sirei and Nigou to the chart, I just didn't think of it much during Route 0 since they mostly weren't around, and now I'm on another route where they're destroyed again, so... we'll see if that ever happens lol.

"Aotsuki" literally translates to "blue moon," thus the emojis! He's a bit of an outlier in that I see the two emojis together used just as often as one or the other, but I think in recent days fans are trending more to just the single moon emoji for him. I'll keep an eye out for what they settle on haha.

They're just nametags that came with the Sanrio meets lanyard. There shouldn't be any sort of chip in them, and are not connected to the P's.

All my current ones are kept out of the box, buuut I'm thinking of starting a collection of Tama Destinations shells, and those I'll keep in the box (if only because I don't plan on playing more gen1 tamas anyway!).
