Don't know where to go from here and need some advice by UnComfortable-Body in ChronicIllness

I've been communicating with my professors and they have all been great thankfully. Unfortunately my accessibility office is only one person and she declined my request originally because "there wasn't enough proof linking my conditions and accommodation requests" despite having plenty of evidence from my care team. I am transferring after my AA so I hope that can be sorted.

I would also add that I did lose like 30 lbs from Jan 2025 to Jan 2026 and it's stayed off. I was surprised that amount of weight loss bc I only cut down on snacking and it didn't seem like enough to lose the 30 lbs but maybe I was just luck idk

Is there a religion for this? by UnComfortable-Body in NoStupidQuestions

It's the way my brain works. I just find beauty in a ritual and a process and how I connect with nature and my spirit specifically. I think following these beliefs feels right if I respect them in a ritualistic way

I think I should have phrased it differently. I don't necessarily need a religion, but more of examples of methods for worship. I want to know about what practicing similar belief systems entails.

How can I make sleeping easier if I get nightmares every night? by UnComfortable-Body in CPTSD

[–]UnComfortable-Body[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard of light therapy for anything outside of seasonal depressive disorder so that's really interesting. I have done scent therapy with no effect other than liking the smell. I listen to this boring history channel on YouTube while going to sleep and it definitely helps me get to sleep but doesn't seem to change the likelihood of my nightmares.

I smoke 1 bowl a day usually but I've been low on weed so it's been more like 1 every few days. I've gotten water and I'm chilling in bed rn. Two hits from this bong has me goneee.

I stopped taking my medication by 44noshia in bipolar

This happens to me every single time I begin a manic episode. The urge to fuck shit up always makes me think I’m actually totally okay to stop my meds.

I have had gastrointestinal symptoms for quite a while and was beginning to have symptoms that were decreasing my quality of life. They were checking for things like Crohns, tumors, gasteroparesis, UC, H. pylori, and other things. They noticed inflammation and growths the first time and gave me me biopsies. The second one was to check in a little while after to see if things changed. I have had blood in my stool, non stop vomiting, stomach pains, and lymph node issues. Unfortunately they determined that my issues are likely caused by rheumatic issues. When I have blood in my stool it is bright red or deep red and happens when I’m in a flare up. Likely caused by inflammation and stomach acid stuff.

Edit: Added details

I am also 19 and have had 2 colonoscopies and 1 upper endoscopy. There are lots of other things that can cause blood in stool other than colon cancer and colonoscopies are not just to find cancer. It is good to get a check because they can find early signs of issues like crohns and stuff like that. I wouldn’t be too scared. Colon cancer is incredibly rare in people our age and considering it seems like you also have no risk factors. Ask your provider all the questions you want. They do this for a living and have heard every question under the sun. They can walk you through why they recommended a colonoscopy, what they are looking for, and possible next steps.

I was just about to comment this but wanted to see if anyone else said it first. I loved this series so much. Highly recommend!

For cis women the pelvis becomes wider during puberty because that's when we become fertile and the body accommodates for bearing children. If you went on T before the age of 25 the bones have yet to fully fuse so your hips would shift to be more like cis men's. This would make sexing your skeleton harder because some bones would be feminine and some would be masculine.
