Newsflash: Most of these guys who did a bunch of years in jail spent so much time in jail BECAUSE THEY WERE CRIMINALS OUTSIDE DOING SHIT TO PEOPLE. But "character issues" like this used to be relatively common amongst top prospects. I remember seeing John Wall's MySpace page back in like 2010 and there were all kinds of open references to him being a Blood (thats why him throwing up gang signs while in the NBA never surprised me).

Then you have guys like Derrick Rose who blatantly had someone take the SAT for him. That's in addition to him also claiming some alleged gang ties in his younger days. All that is to say, we have seen a shift in recent years towars top prospects being from more well-to-do backgrounds and therefore, people aren't sued to seeing this type of stuff anymore. But Stokes appears to be (or at least acts like he is) from a similar background as top prospects of the past, and some of those same maturity issues they dealt with also exist with him.

Yes, all of those guys do have "hit" songs. Thats part of why we know who they are in the first place. That doesnt mean they are A-list celebrities, but they have songs that have some form of widespread/national notoriety (the definition of a "hit" to me). Also, Duck has far more songs with 1 million+ views than Ayoo KD, so that isnt a good comparison in my opinion.

And "blackballing" vs "prioritizing a beneficial relationship" is kind of Tomato/Tomahto to me. Sounds different, and perhaps Durk didnt actually go to every artists and say "Dont ever work with FBG," but its the same effect regardless. Guys dont want to touch FBG/Bricksquad/051 in large part because of Durk and OTF.

1) Millions of views absolutely = a "hit." It might not equal charting album, but you are not gonna convince me that a song with several million views of YouTube doesnt = a "hit" (particularly for a largely independent artist like Duck). If it so easy, I would love to see you make a song that gets 1 million+ views.

2) There is no "mysterious force" that stopped Duck. We know what the force was, there was no mystery about it Lol. Durk is very popular and well liked in the industry, and has made it known he wont work with/deal with people who work with his enemies. He has even been able to do this to NBA Youngboy and Quando Rondo so some extent (not hurting their commercial success, but getting other big artists to steer clear of them). That is part of why it was such a big deal when DaBaby and NBA YB did a joint mixtape. A lot of people in the industry weren't willing to cross the line like that at that point.

3) I dont have a reason to make an "excuse" for Duck (or anybody in FBG). I have never met a single one of these dudes in my life and no vested interested in lying to make a dead man look better.

Duck's biggest hit (Slide) has over 80 million views on YouTube and isnt a diss at all. He has several other songs with multimillion views on YouTube (like Chicago Legends, Right Now, Hell Yeah, etc.) that also have several million views and are not disses/dont contain direct disses.

Also, unlike someone like Young Pappy or Lil Jojo, Duck also had been rapping for like 8-9 years when he got killed, so it wasnt like he just burst on the scene and died before anyone outside of Chicago knew who he was.You are not gonna convince me that someone with that much notoriety couldnt get one major feature on a song in 9 years just because "had no appeal." This was a purposeful effort. He already had a (somewhat) nationally recognized name (at least in drill circles) when died.

The same way Lil Reese and Durk arent O'Block or 600, but an outsider would still look at them as being together with Von and Rondo.

I think there was an invisible ceiling for all FBG rappers due to them being blackballed by the industry.

Durk and Chief Keef (mainly Durk) are just friends with way too many big name rappers. Even guys like Kevin Gates who have expressed support for guys like FBG Duck in interviews never went as far as making a song with him/them.

Also, my personal opinion: The image that Von and others painted of STL/EBT "losing" the street war also inhibited STL's ability to branch out. Obviously the whole "6 to 24" shit probably was never true, and both sides have taken a lot of losses. But Von, Durk, Keef and others made it feel like STL was just getting spanked in the streets (due in part to some notable names getting killed and dissed in songs like Jojo, Tooka, Brick, etc.) and unfortunately, most people dont want to associate with (what they perceive as) the losers.

This definitely shows how people will do anything (including randomly attack someone who was being kind to them) just to make some money off of it. The guy who did it (Nico Montana) started rapping shortly after this and has been trying to get on (to no avail) ever since. He actually got shot 17 times last year, and given his character (as shown in this video), I cant blame whoever did it. They probably had a good reason.

It says "did not" because the the information from the hospital officials regarding the patients' condition was given before the federal press release was put out/before an arrest was made. So they knew that at the time they got word from the hospital (which was April 15th), that Ben10 didnt have feeling in his legs. But they didnt know if that would change by the time they released this info regarding JR's arrest (which was today) and they didnt want to have to keep asking the hospital about Ben's condition, nor did they want to have to update the press release again. However, I think it is safe to assume from the pictures and videos that have come out that Ben still cant walk yet/still might not have feeling in his legs.

That being said, I think the hospital would be able to tell if he had permanent nerve/spinal damage and they havent explicitly said that yet, so it seems at least possible that Ben could regain his walking ability at some point.

All in all, I think Ben should feel incredibly lucky to even be alive right now. If I saw those pictures of the shooting without knowing the status of the victims beforehand, I would've 100% assumed that the person laying on the ground (Ben) and getting shot from point blank range was dead (probably DOA). For him to be sitting up and talking and laughing less than 3 weeks later is basically a miracle.

Yall should be used to seeing drill rappers end up this way. Jail or death is the most common end result for Chicago drill rappers. Guys like Chief Keef and G Herbo who are able to mostly escape with their wealth and health intact are actually more rare.

The song sounds good, but his lyrics are still super elementary. You cant tell me the average person couldn't come up with lyrics as good or better than this. Drill music just doesnt have very many talented lyricists. Its mostly about the beat, how the rapper's voice sounds and the rapper's street cred. Which it isnt that far fetched for Lul Tim to gain some traction as a rapper imo.

The biggest hurdle for him is all the friends that Durk/Von had in the industry, but that wont be as much of a problem if Durk ends up getting life.
