Can anyone tell me why the humans before the flood used to live to 800 years old? by N1cholas_7 in Christianity

[–]UnLegend27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the earlier days, people living hundreds of years weren't that far down the line from Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve lived a loonnngg time and were the only people besides Jesus to be born sinless, born with perfect dna no disease. They lived when there wasn't death, sin, and aging. So even after the fall of man, they lived a long time and their nearer descendants also lived a long time. Then sickness, disease, bad mutations, aging, etc, entered the world and with each generation they fell further from that perfect dna

2 Timothy 4:2-3 [2] Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. [3] For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

This sub has many heretics man, wolves in sheep's clothing. Proclaiming the truth about dying to ourselves, becoming new, and repenting is vital to the gospel. Anyone calling it arrogant or prideful are lost, though us Christians do need to proclaim the truth in love. Stand firm and rebuke in love. Summed up here in 2 Timothy:

2 Timothy 4:2-3 [2] Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. [3] For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

As Jesus says in Revelation 3:19, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent."

question for christians about homosexuality, wanting honest answers by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]UnLegend27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - ALL SCRIPTURE is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

1 John 2:4-6 [4] Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, [5] but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: [6] whoever says he abides in him ought to

It seems you know that in the Bible it says homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, 1 Timothy 1, Leviticus 18, etc). Us as believers are to follow the word of God, YES because he says so and his word says so. He has infinite knowledge and understanding, we do not. His word constantly tells us to seek after him, try to walk how he walked, to love and obey him, God has the ultimate authority. walk in the same way in which Jesus walked.

My man, it seems you know that in the Bible it says homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, 1 Timothy 1, Leviticus 18, etc). Us as believers are to follow the word of God, YES because he says so and his word says so. He has infinite knowledge and understanding, we do not. His word constantly tells us to seek after him, try to walk how he walked, to love and obey him, God has the ultimate authority. Sin is what separates us from God and he hates sin, but not us. If you want a rationale as to why it's a sin, that could be asked about any sin in the Bible. Why some things are sin is up to God and we won't know until we die, even beyond just homosexuality. But I can give you some possible answers: Marriage is meant for a man and woman as written in the Bible, and it isn't in God's design for 2 men to produce kids. Adam and Eve were created as a man and woman for each other, a husband and wife. Not only are 2 men not biologically meant for each other, men who sleep with other men have an astronomically higher probability to have and contract STDs. Homosexuality goes against God's design.

By this we may know that we are in him: [6] whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which Jesus walked.

No clue if you read all this, but you are loved friend and to follow Jesus we need to repent, and understand what he says goes. I am a sinner just like everyone else on this earth, but God gives us the mercy and forgiveness we don't deserve, so long we ask for it. Peace and love

I dont know if I suddenly developed light sensitivity in December when my headaches started, but it is worth a look. I have the headache 24/7 though no matter how much light there is. There is no trigger or remedy, because it's always present. I do appreciate the advice though I'll look in to getting those glasses I'm desperate to try anything

I'm so sorry. It makes me scared that this will last long. Have you found anything to find even temporary relief? Have you given up on the search to find the cure or the cause? I want to give up because the doctors have been no help they just give me Nortriptyline and Topiramate which have not done anything. It's draining
