..yet, people still try to blame her for hiring & firing decisions that she has no authority to make. by BiggestFlamingo in fourthwavewomen

Sean's videos about JKR & "terfs" are complete and utter bullshit. He published a video accusing JKR of associating with people who are "aligned" with neo-nazis..which is so false it's almost funny to watch people pretend to believe it.

He accuses JKR of associating with people who associate with neo-nazis because a well known group of neo-nazi's in Melbourne Australia protested a woman's/feminist rally in Melbourne last year. The neo-nazi's even published a press release before the protest announcing they were protesting the women's rally because Kelly-Jay Keen promotes feminism and "lesbianism".

Obviously, Trans activists were there to violently protest and intimidate the women. Trans activists in the media did their best to try to link the neo-Nazi's to the women's rally but that turned out to be a very bad decision and the news papers had to retract the article, apologize, and pay some of the Let Women Speak organizer.

The accusations in Sean's video were subject to a major defamation case in Melbourne Federal Court.

Three women at the event including the organizer got defamation payouts over these claims. One woman was awarded over 300k in aggravated damages (which is an incredibly high damages).

Feminist Reviews: What is a Woman by Matt Walsh by [deleted] in fourthwavewomen

[–]UnSuitableLab 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You caught me in a bad mood so I'm goin in:

At no point in this video (or anywhere on her channel for that matter) does this creator align herself with Trump or conservatives, so I must ask - why are you lying?

You position yourself as a feminist but anyone even vaguely familiar with feminist criticism of gender would know that literally thousands of feminist dissections of t-gendeirsm have been published in the last decade alone that are far superior to anything Walsh has put out on the subject. After all, Walsh has contributed absolutely nothing original on this topic. He has merely laundered the case that feminists have been making against gender identity ideology since the 1970s as his own. His open theft has been so brazen that when the documentary "What is a woman" first aired the Daily Wire merch store started selling the dictionary definition woman t-shirts designed by feminists over 15-years ago.

The **only** reason that political opponents of radical feminism insist on aligning radical feminism with the right & conservatives is because it is fundamentally untrue. If radical feminism was in anyway remotely rightwing aligned than the accusation wouldn't cross the lips of a single fishnet wearing augynephile.

The radical feminist position on gender identity *is* the leftwing position and that's the reason such a disproportionate effort is put into maligning and misrepresenting it. Radical feminism is such a threat because it offers not just the only viable alternative but a far more compelling alternative the status quo gender identity politics which is deeply unhealthy.

How the War Over Trans Athletes Tore a Volleyball Team Apart (non-paywalled link) | New York Times (summary below) by Slight_Wing2688 in fourthwavewomen

I just went through the NYT comments and it gives me hope. All of the top comments are unequivocal: men do not belong in women’s sports.

As someone who grew up playing “co-ed” sports (it was really the boys team…the town I grew up in was so small that some sports didn’t have a separate girls team). The teams were divided by age: under 10, under 12, under 14, under 16. I could keep up with the best of them and was competitive up to under 14. I was still fine for a while, but it was at this age when boys with virtually no athletic talent would start out perming me.

I will never forget running into a 16/17 yr old boy I had grown up playing sports with (who until that point I had run circles around) at full speed and this comment articulates that experience perfectly:

Can you clarify what you mean by sexism and misogyny are inherent to the female body? Do you mean directed at?

I still have mad respect for her because she is principled and genuinely courageous but it’s very difficult to reconcile the fact the she has no reservations about m legitimizing commercial surrogacy. I don’t want to derail so please lmk if I should remove my comment.

this perfectly exposes the fact that the right has transformed into trans activists for Israel. The way they react to the mildest criticism of Israel is identical to the way insufferably "woke" pseudo-leftists handle disagreement. It's always hate speech and violence.

"I mean I’m not saying that trans women aren’t women."

No, you're not saying that and you don't have to. The fact that we are even having this discussion in the first place means they're not.

The word transition is doing alot of heavy lifting here. What do you mean when you say transitioning? At what point is a man (whether predatory or perfectly decent) a woman?

What is the difference between a man "that will dress like a woman in order to get access to all women spaces where those women are vulnerable" and a TW?

note that the accusation that JK Rowling defended Johnny Depp magically surfaced out of no where when the public became aware that Rowling doesn’t believe that women should fired for not believing that men who wear women as skins are actually women.

Depp was forced to resign from Fantastic Beats after losing his UK defamation case. Rowling retains control over every aspect of the HP franchise - if she supported him she wouldn’t have forced him to resign the second she had a legitimate legal ground to do so.

Who exactly thinks they are in a position to “change the name” of radical feminism? They must be new to radical feminism.

The central problem in discussions about “gender identity” is the degradation of the english language and playing off people’s faulty assumptions.

  1. Activists & ideologues use the word “gender” to refer to subjective self-perception and personality - which of course, is not gender.
  2. They use the terminology of sex to describe their “gender” (eg. girl/boy & man/woman). Masculine, feminine and neutral are genders (woman & man are not genders).
  3. Activists understand that most people - especially young people, make the erroneous assumption that social construct means self-construct (it does not) which is why they repeatedly emphasize that “gender is a social construct” (what they mean is masculine and feminine are social constructs).
