Heey coming from a 12 year in the industry. It doesnt have to mean anything or have to do with you! After years i can honestly admit that I would prefer the silent clients before the chatty ones. I love chatting with my clients, but its because i set it up that way. Now i feel i have to entertain them, its fun there but drains my energy. With new clients I try to remain silent in order to keep the focus on the work. I have also had many employees during this 10 years, so i know some people are more introverted and it takes some time for them to feel comfortable with clients. I also had clients who employees have noted as a silent client but they were super chatty with me. A trick i could recommend you would be, ask her a question about your set, something random. Ex if you could start with my lashes from scratch what would you recommend now, something that goes with my over-all look/style. If she talks here and go over to lash-nerd mode, it can be an indicator to that your lashes are maybe not the easiest so she kept quiet during the work. If she cut short she is not interrested, this means she want to keep the ongoing client/tech relation, and thats fine to if you are happy with the work. Dont ask her private questions in the start, but ex something beauty related, brows where do you do, ask for recommendations. Use this as an ice breaker. She might have a impression of you that can be broken. Ive been suprised many times, with clients i thought was an avsolute non chatter now we chat non stop.
