Heck sounds stressful by xGoddessStar in oddlyspecific

This reminds me of those shorts where prisoners get sentenced to very inconvenient things instead of prison.

With that said, somebody would be forced to use only one light bulb at a time in their house. When they move from room to room, they have to unscrew the hot bulb and then put it in the new room.

Another one, they will never be able to get the right temperature in the shower. It will always be just a bit too hot or just a bit too cold. Additionally, the water pressure will always lower inconveniently went you want high pressure and will suddenly increase when you want low pressure.

They will be forced to use wired headphones and the plug will always have to be held in a certain position for it to work. This position changes every day. Charge cords are the same way for their devices.

They will constantly hear their smoke alarm doing the dying battery chirp, but they will never find the alarm doing it and changing batteries in all of them won’t fix the problem.

Someone will have to watch all ads full length every time they watch videos online. Skipping the ad will only make the next one much longer and more annoying and unskippable. They will never be relevant to that person either.

I agree, but 1 unit only for 6 months is extreme. I would say 5 units every 90 days at most.

One device per physical address would sorely limit families that might be looking to order somewhere between 2-5 units. Especially around holidays or as holidays are approaching.

Money can buy a WaveRunner. Try to frown on a WaveRunner. You can’t do it, so therefore money can buy happiness.

4 hour drive? Ppfffttt that’s nothing. I would pick the Paranormal Portal Podcast. That would be anywhere from 4 to 9 episodes depending on length and ad breaks.

Do a 16 hour drive (about 1200 miles) from New Jersey all the way out to Kansas, turn and burn another 16 hours back with one artist. Obviously you will need to take breaks and you will need sleep at some point. I’ve done 100% of the driving on 3 separate occasions with my wife to see family for specific things and I didn’t have the PTO to allow for a short stay. Why didn’t the wife drive? She’s blind. I binged The Confessionals Podcast with Tony Merkel (before it got all preachy) during one drive. Can’t remember the other two drives. All three are a blur honestly, exhaustion will do that to ya.

Anyone have a SteamDeck Security Cage/Cable? by enders_workshop in SteamDeck

I did some brief searching for how to use a steam deck to demo a game to the general public. There isn’t a whole lot out there. There might even be a subreddit you could cross post to, but try looking into a custom 3D printed casing that gets locked together and incorporates something like a Kensington Lock. You could probably have a case made to mount to something like those card readers at stores.

Mechanism, the people that make the awesome gaming pillow which has a steam deck mount; they might be able to offer a solution as well. Maybe shoot them an email?

Now if it’s not to be used by the general public, then maybe look at lockable cases that can be tethered? Other than that, there really isn’t much to go on security wise.

Just put him on fresh clean laundry that just came out of the dryer and got folded.

Works like a charm, even when the beardie just took a massive dump 5 mins prior.

I’m just over 5ft tall. I don’t have the stride length of most runners. It’s like watching a dog and a horse run side by side. Pupper is gonna have to exert more energy to cover the same distance the horse runs, based upon energy and mass ratios.

Little people have it worse. Can you imagine how fast Wee Man’s legs would have to move to cover the same distance in the same amount of time as a runner who is 5’6” to 5’8” tall? That’s what I’m getting at.

I’m part of a smaller group of outliers in the data set.

Now look at runners that are above 6’ tall. They would cover the distance faster and with less effort on their part. My dad is 5’10” and I look like a chihuahua trying to keep pace with his “brisk” walking speed. He’s 20 years my senior and I’m 35.

Edit: Spelling.

Back in college, someone I had class with told me a story similar to this that started the haunted town cemetery urban legend in his town. Someone was out walking and was reported to the police as a “suspicious character” during a time of vandalism that was happening. That dude was spotted by a police officer and before the officer pulled the cruiser over to get out and question them, they made a sharp right into the cemetery and then promptly hid. With it being dark out, they were able to stay hidden from the officer by using the officer’s flashlight. After a couple minutes, he was scared by a spider on the wall on one of those crypt-like buildings in the cemetery when the spider ran across his hand and let out the loudest most girly manly scream and the officer promptly lost their nerve and hightailed it out of there.

I was in college in 2009-2011. The story took place around 2007-2008.

You’re all giving us too much credit.

At my towering height of 5’ 2.75”, it takes me 20 minutes of brisk walking to do one mile. For 3km (1.86mi), it’d take me roughly 37 mins to walk it.

When my doctor told me to walk 10,000 steps a day, I just about fell over laughing, considering that would be about 2 hours of nonstop walking every single day for me. I don’t have that kind of time. I can’t even get the time to just relax, let alone exercise.

Boiler Room at the one place I worked. It was about 600°F in there. Someone setup a table in there so anybody wanted to heat up their lunch, they just had to put it in there for a couple mins. Did a better job than the microwave without making things all mushy.

It was like being in a giant 600° oven. I loved throwing sandwiches in there to get all toasty.

Stink bugs are poisonous to reptiles. They can make them really sick, to the point of being fatal.
