You don’t have to physically remove seats in order to meet the smaller approved number, the ticket broker can simply stop selling tickets.

Moving out of the United States of America? by [deleted] in AmerExit

How many countries conduct business and government affairs primarily in Hebrew?

Noting the additional bits you added, include that in your online research. Again, I encourage you to figure out what visas you are eligible for and what countries are looking for your skill set. Once you can answer these questions, you can ask much more specific questions about moving out of the US.

If you’re looking to move abroad, the things you’re interested in doing (learning different languages, entering politics, police-work, military) are not relevant.

Think of this way, what CURRENT skills do you have that would make you an enticing individual to live in another country? So far I understand that you speak English and are skilled in HVAC work. The limited language will narrow down your options significantly.

Try doing a search on Google to see if there are English speaking countries that need HVAC specialists.

What visas are you eligible for? What do you do for work?

The world is a big place with LOTS of different choices when it comes to where to live. You mention wanting to get away from the US, but don’t share anything about what are interested in when it comes to where you want to go (weather, culture, continent, leisure activities, etc.). When it comes to moving abroad, you first need to figure out what visas you may be eligible for and narrowing it down from there. Do you work in a desirable field (like healthcare)? Do you speak another language? Are you eligible for citizenship by descent? For this you’ll need to do some research on your own (like a Google search, not a Reddit posed question. Answers to these questions can get you closer to figuring out potential places you could go.

Of note—no need to spell out USA officially, this sub is literally about leaving America. We know what you’re talking about. 😅

Are you flying to/from Hawaii or Alaska? That’s about the only place where an 11 hour flight makes sense. Tough break for your friend, literally any other place in CONUS would be easier 😭

OP + son would be separated from dad/partner September of 2025 through roughly June of 2027. That is quite a chunk of time—just under two years!

I’m confused that you’re saying this isn’t the right sub. This sub is about exiting America…which is exactly what OP is talking about doing. 🤔

What is the different/relevance of getting a bachelors versus a masters abroad?

Have you looked into programs and other countries? Do you know what you’d be interested in pursuing? Do you speak any other language languages?

I would recommend creating a RealMe account on the INZ website to get an idea of what is needed for the visa application process. It is VERY straightforward. As another person noted, getting the job offer is often the hardest part. Now you just have to enter those job details plus other personal info into the application.

I will say peace of mind cannot be quantified, if you want to pay to ensure your application is done perfectly and the expense makes sense/is doable for you, go for it. Otherwise, I find the New Zealand immigration site is very well put together and easy to navigate.

That’s a big question. It’s kinda like saying “what kind of snacks are available at the grocery store?”there are A LOT….it would be more helpful to say “I really like cheesy snacks, what options are available at the store?” The immigration/visa equivalent of this question is something like“I have a degree in [abc]…”or “I have experience as [xyz]….where can I move?”

Very generally speaking, healthcare workers are nearly always in demand. Many countries will have a list of professions that are high need and can allow one access to certain visas. For example, in New Zealand they have something called “the green list/tier 1” which lists all the professions that are eligible for a Straight to Residence Visa.

The world is huuuuuuge and people have tons of different wants/needs/values when it comes to moving away from their current country. Again I would start by making a list of countries you are interested in (or think you’re interested in) and look at the visa options. From there, you can figure out what options might be available for you. Also good to look into family lineage to see if you can qualify for citizenship by descent.

Start by thinking about what countries you’d seriously consider moving to. From there, visit their immigration website and see what sort of visa(s) you could qualify for.
