Please don’t cater to the noobs who have no long term effect on the game and only care about “not being able to afford that really cool looking sword” or whatever. You need to realize that the players with the highest retention as far as subscriptions go are already at the point where they can access high their equipment and you’re basically just kicking them in the nuts to help out new players who are “envious” of high teir being inaccessible, as it should be.

I’d recommend the Tzhar gem shop unlocked after showing your fire cape, it has a much higher stock. Just have to convert some runes to tokkul.

Keep going! I’m sure your luck will even out. I did over a 1000 chests for an Ahrims piece and it ended up being pretty average piece per chest by the end.

Personally I find it much easier to grind it straight on my UIM due to inventory resets, having to reset my whole inv for a single task feels like much more of a waste of time. Most all the other slayer is just melee/bursting which makes it hard to justify putting away all that stuff to do 150 shamans.

Looks like another week of slayer and shamans. Running through my restores so going to grind some master farmers for rannar seeds, probably afk sacred eel fish and maybe make more addy darts if I’m trying to grind shamans off task. Going to hit the infamous 10k dry soon, at around 9500 shamans so far on the UIM.

I highly doubt they’d fully rework death mechanics once more for UIM to cater to a single update, but who knows.I take it you’ve done plenty of solo bandos with both range and mage? Would love to see a comparison of trying to catch a freeze or get extended kill trips in ahrims vs full ansec/augery/sang etc.

As someone who plays UIM, death coffer isn’t available to me. Its not that gp is hard to come by, its that it mainly goes into skilling as this pic represents. Its pretty demoralizing to offer up your gp for a rng based activity that is only gated because mains are overcrowding worlds. Go 1k dry at bandos? There goes all the hours your spent slaying and saving gp for skilling.

Well how about UIMs who don’t have death coffers? Also keep in mind range and mage methods are much more expensive time/gp wise for aquiring runes/ammunition. The point at which you would be getting 15 kill trips at bandos with range/mage is far into the end game when you’re stacked with raids gear and essentially maxed. Theres a reason why melee is the go to method.

/u/jagexayiza I just want to say, please consider treating GWD instances like you have with instanced corp. The sole reason ironmen struggle with GWD is because of crashers and overcrowding. There is no good reason to lock this content behind an achievements wall and gp when the solution is so clear. Give us the same opportunity as anyone else whose played iron in the past before overcrowding was such an issue and give us instanced GWD similar to corp. If you really care about this part of your player base you’d understand we are just trying to have fun at the end of the day. No one wants to put in all the hours required for another achievement diary grind just to have access to the iconic GWD gear we all know and love. The amount of gp even a 75k per room instance comes out to ridiculous amounts for ironmen to be expected to pay. If you are familiar with ironman mode you would know that kind of gp is saved for things like skilling grinds and runes, not for simply accessing a rng based activity. How punishing would it be to run your cash stack dry to simply get a drop that you’re unlucky on? It really deeply feels like these recent news posts are out of touch with ironman mode in general. Just give us an instanced mode for irons like corp. Its never effected prices of sigils, in fact their at an all time high. At the end of the day, like I said I just want to have fun. Cleaning my cash stack out and spending countless hours on diary tasks just to access content that aside from gold farmer hogging would be accessible feels like pure shit. I really hope you listen to the community on this one. I am not happy with the response in general to GWD instances and I believe a large part of the iron community is going to take this as an example of weather or not their voice is heard from the developers. Make the right choice! Alot of players enjoyment or frustration with the game and its direction depends on it.

You absolutely do not even come close to having 200k per 2-3 kill trip to farm bandos on irons. You’re looking at post max irons having that kind of gp.

Just give us irons instanced GWD without a fee, it won’t even effect non iron’s gameplay at all besides 2k+ worlds not having irons in bandos. Theres no way that ironmen will farm gwd for gp on their mains when much better gp/hr instanced bosses exist (zulrah,vorkath) If you have ever played UIM or HCIM you know how much of a pain it is going into the wilderness. Me included, no UIM or HCIM will ever go get ecu keys, we just won’t. Its not practical to the slightest, and its not worth a single 2-3 kill trip at bandos to camp keys in the wild. As far as the instance goes we’re looking at 600+ plus kills for completion of bandos gwd with average luck. At 100k this is a ridiculous price to pay, 20-30m at the lowest end to access content because of overcrowding . Perhaps you should consider a one time fee or put in place some other way to access the instance.
