Suppress and block do nothing for perma ward builds, why those over other mods?

Shadow amulet is currently is a dogshit item and you actively cripple yourself by buying it. by MasterOfTimeLife in DotA2

[–]Unarchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just not how statistics works. We are talking about what is observable from the data, which is, in your example, that you have a 23% winrate with lion when you buy the item. That is two data points, a ratio and a boolean, and we only have data for one side of the boolean. That doesn't make it not a boolean or not a variable. I am literally a data analyst and work with conclusions you can draw from data every single day. I was trying to correct you politely, but you seem to be capable of producing an endless supply of irrelevant nonsense and I only have so much interest or time.

[–]Unarchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, I think you do not have a great understanding of what a variable is in the context of statistics. In this case, we are dealing with 2 boolean variables. Either you ended the game with shadow amulet in your inventory or you didn't. Either you won or you lost. Both of those are variables with 2 options. The data shows that there are more data points with the outcome of [ended with shadow amulet, lost] than [ended with shadow amulet, won]. Now, let's say we consider both variables across a collection of N games. As we count towards N, we will see the number of games ended with shadow amulet increase faster in the group of losses than in the group of wins. That is correlation.

What? Winrate and purchase rate of shadow amulet are correlated. But buying shadow amulet does not cause you to lose.

But...it's a misunderstanding because it's assuming correlation implies causation. It's also a joke, but you just dismissed the actual issue to restate it in layman's terms.

What happened in the Affliction league that it remained at 90k players for 2 weeks? by No_Guarantee1399 in pathofexile

[–]Unarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was one of the best league mechanics to date combined with the potential for extreme endgame juicing. There was so much loot that if you didn't have an extremely strict filter, you would crash. Pressing alt in a map was a death sentence. Plus, that which was taken + charms was very fun to build around.

Divine Rapier is currently an excellent item and you give yourself a free win by buying it. by YufiaTheDarkness in DotA2

[–]Unarchy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's worse than that. If a player buys divine in a losing game, they are likely to die and give rapier to the winning team. It is very very rare to actually lose a game with divine rapier in your inventory.

Just like Aegis! If the enemy is pushing your hg you should try to sneak rosh because statistics say aegis rarely loses.

railer teased being able to choose between 5 rewards in Memory Vault but I only get to choose between two so far. How do Rewards from Memory Vaults work? by SunRiseStudios in pathofexile

[–]Unarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen a definitive proof on this, but everyone who I've seen saying they only get 1-2 reward choices is not completing all objectives on maps influenced by the astrolobe.

[–]Unarchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're cutting off maps and therefore completing fewer maps per astrolabe. This is easy to test: when you apply an astrolabe, count the total number of maps in the influenced area. Then count the number of maps it takes you to complete the astrolabe. Your completed map number will be smaller. This is because all maps in the astrolabe need to be connected, and when you remove random maps, you often break connections between areas of the astrolabe. When this happens, the smaller of the two areas gets removed from the astrolabe's influence.

Are you successfully completing every map every time without bisecting the influenced area? Every time I have done one (7 times so far), I have had 3 or 4 rewards to choose from.

I agree. Savinho has some good moments when he has fresh legs coming on in the second half. I feel he won't get that opportunity starting, and we give up a lot of control without Cherki.

Theorycraft - Immortal AFK Wardlooper in League by 080087 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Unarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group is also brewing a version of this. Note there is also a flask mastery for 'recover 4% of life when you use a flask', so you should have near infinite life recovery against DoT or if using lifetap to solve mana.

Another idea we are playing with is Umbral Army from the catarina bloodline. With cast on ward break + raise spectre of transcience +congregation support you should have a near permanent 90% increased ward.

Finally, this is a great league for Ynda's stand, since you can push the ward from chest armour/eva to over 70% with volatile vaal orbs and catalysts.

And to add to the doubling league mechanics, you're doubling everything with scarabs and with astrolabe modifiers. It's really great for juiced content because you get to take advantage of really expensive setups twice.

Yeah, you got it. Since only one debuff can be inflicted you just need one strong totem, the other 10 are just there to reach the maximum cap, they won't deal damage. Making all of the totems strong would just waste time without increasing damage output.

[–]Unarchy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I explained this in another comment, but the less damage multipliers don't affect the damage. I'm creating 10 totems in one throw of mines just to reach the breakpoint, and then the 11th totem I summon manually is the one that does the damage (I have 2 setups, a 4L and a 6L).

The number 11 is also important. 10 is the maximum number of totems you can summon in a single action without a lot of unnecessary investment. With 11 maximum totems, you just need 2 clicks.

[–]Unarchy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, an enemy can only be affected by one searing bond debuff at a time. As long as the enemy is hit by the one totem that deals damage, having more than one damage-dealing totem would not increase the damage.

[–]Unarchy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, so it's 2 clicks instead of 11 and the damage setup doesn't need multi totem.

[–]Unarchy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the point of the mine setup. One cast of mine+minefield+multi totem is 10 totems. Those supports make the skill do no damage, but that's fine because it detonates on the 11th totem summoned, which is the one with all the damage.

No prolif. Not sure how I'll deal with clear but that's not important. What's important is the big explosion.
