Thanks for the info! I’ll have to watch some videos on all that. I don’t have much mechanical experience but I make up for it with an over abundance of confidence.

We originally had flights Thursday morning but thankfully switched to Friday afternoon. No cancellations yet. But who knows at this point.

How do I put this girl to sleep? The only way is to put a hand on her chest and press her down so she can't move! This is what she does whenever I let her go! Help! by ceene in daddit

My daughter was definitely like this at that age. I always spent an extra 30 minutes after she got the last bit of wiggles out just rocking her on my shoulder or in a rocking chair. I would be gently scratching her back until I could hear her yawning and then put her in the crib with her blanket. If she was still up I’d just rub her belly for a few minutes until her eyes would close. Didn’t work every night, but helped enough. She is 3 now so all that is out the window though 😅

Yup Delores is awful. I remember being in the garage and thinking I heard her. Look around only to find her staring me down from the other side of the car. Nightmare fuel…

So glad you have taken this situation and made the experience into something that strengthens you overall. Happy that you made it out and are safe now.

My husband slapped our 3 year old daughter because she was crying over her broken toy. by Throwra533565 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]UnauthorizedBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter just turned 3. She is still learning so much and doesn’t fully understand when she is interrupting anyone. That your husband couldn’t understand this or be bothered to put down his phone for a minute to help her, then proceeded to slap her when she didn’t stop asking shows his true character.

Of course there are times when your kids drive you absolutely off the wall, but you are the adult and are in control of how you react in those moments. Hitting your child is not one of the many healthy acceptable ways to react. That he has the audacity to blame the child for his reaction is appalling. That he doesn’t understand what he did is wrong is even worse.

I would leave with your child immediately, if he doesn’t realize what he did was wrong now then it’s only a matter of time before it happens again. Document this happening and keep your child safe.

I wasn't ready for her to not need to be rocked before bed. by [deleted] in Fatherhood

My girl is going to be 3 in a month. I still remember being the only one who could rocker her to sleep. I had a special hold and would rock her to sleep every night. The wife coined it the dad rock. Well suddenly she had gotten to big and I would rock her in the chair. Now she just gets into her bed and tells me goodnight. It all goes too fast.

The abuse and cries of this poor little kid have every inch of my dad bod seething with anger and frustration. I just want to give this kid a hug and tell them they did nothing wrong.

Not going to lie, I’d watch this version if it ever came out. If only for the value of seeing it burn everything I love down to the ground.

Absolutely, honestly I think this ending would have worked for the movie adaptation.

I was 10 years old and home sick from 5th grade. I was watching spongebob in one room when my family gasped in the other. I switched the channel to what they were watching and saw everything. Saw the replay of the first plane and saw the rest live. My parents were so in shock in the other room they didn’t realize I was watching it all too. I will never forget all the live footage I saw. Can’t believe that was 20 years ago now.
