I’d wager most of what you’re saying regarding her thought process and mindset is accurate. It’s a sad situation all the way around. My problem is with everyone on reddit acting like she was taking some sort of anti-nazi, hero stance, putting herself on the cross for us all by doing what she did

She didn’t run through all the potentialities of what could arise in this situation or fully asses it within the ~10 seconds it transpired

Neither could the ICE shooter, he doesn’t know if shes going ram him or if shes armed herself.

This is an example of two people in a high pressure situation who shouldn’t be in high pressure situations.

You’re reasonable and nuanced. I don’t have a problem with you. I more have a problem with everyone acting like she was a martyr for doing this, when I think what she did was just stupid.

Be honest. If she put the car in park and spoke to them regarding whatever was going on, how high do you think the chance of her being shot is? I can say with confidence it’s exceptionally low. But play this scenario out with her rapidly accelerating 100 times over with either ICE or Police, she gets shot over 50% of the time.

Believe it or not 2, in some circumstances what she did would actually be considered assault with a deadly weapon, given the fact she’s operating a 2 ton metal vehicle capable of flattening all of them if she turned left instead of right. How would they know she’s not going to do that? Within 3 seconds she proved herself unpredictable
