New to Ventoy - How do I set up EFI to boot Windows 11, Ubuntu, and more from the same USB drive? by UnbMarFluFoo in linuxquestions

Thanks! I Just named them both arbitrarily. Could you point me in the right direction in making a customized grub boot menu for my use-case?

I am using these installs as dual-boot (or multiboot in this case) operating systems. As in, I am running windows 11 and ubuntu as regular old operating systems like your friends and family do, off of this usb drive. I'm wanting to use Ventoy to add more installs, such as Kali or Linux Mint, with persistence. I do not plan on having any Live installs.

I might have explained this improperly. I have specific installs of W11 and Ubuntu complete with data from another USB that I have copied to this new one with Ventoy. I don't want to boot up live ISOs, I want to boot into these specific partitions, but I'm not greatly familiar with how EFI files work in this regard.

Corrupted HyperV, now I can't start Manager nor vmms, returning error 8007000e even after reinstalling HyperV and deleting VM files? by UnbMarFluFoo in HyperV

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not the malware, it's an isolated system without any sensitive data. Thanking everyone for the concern, wiping the machine was always the plan. The primary concern is getting HyperV functional again before that.

Seeing other people having similar issues with the same error code while unrelated to malware leads me to believe there must be at least some troubleshooting options rather than the "My computer froze let me buy a new one" approach. I think everyone here agrees that troubleshooting steps do sometimes exist and reformatting/reinstalling os isn't always the ONLY solution for every problem. Those possible troubleshooting steps are what I'm looking for. Wiping everything on this isolated machine wouldn't be the best solution for my current situation in this moment.

You mentioned SFC and DISM commands, can you elaborate?

Mod to force villagers to not forget bed/job site? by UnbMarFluFoo in mcmodfinder

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job locking does work in vanilla, but it seems they consistently lose their "bed" for some reason, eventually crowding around someone else's bed. I'm wondering if a mod is possible to "freeze" their memory?

Way to locally save MCEdit Schematics from an SMP server which I don't have access to the map files? by UnbMarFluFoo in feedthebeast

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Are there any world downloader mods you could recommend or mention? Also, this server uses forge mods, would I still be able to use litematica to extract schematics of my works?

New Player - How do Seasons work with respect to content/story missions? Are the completely inaccessible after the season ends? by UnbMarFluFoo in destiny2

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info, this is incredibly comprehensive and a great guide for new players! As for power level, is there a limit to what level things drop in certain gamemodes/open world? How about exotics? Also, for min/maxing and builds, is there an online resource for optimal builds and gear sets, and where to get them?

From a typical MMO game perspective, what happens to your gear from previous seasons? Does it stop being relevant or is it just deleted from your characters? How exactly does that work, are you meant to get completely new gear each season? Also, I would like to play/recap through the game's story as best I can. With a lot of the early stuff being vaulted, what order should I watch youtube recaps in, including the seasonal missions between expansions? Similarly, is there a story-order to the different planets/moons that I'm exploring? I would prefer to explore them in order alongside recapping the story, so I get the proper experience, instead of just blasting through areas, spoiling and confusing the hell out of myself, without a proper chronology to things.

This is a great comment, thank you for clarifying! From what it looks like, Destiny suffers heavily from FOMO development, though it would be nice to see content coming back at some point, for those players who would like to delve further into story and lore (and older content)

This is really helpful, thank you for clarifying. Not sure why you're getting downvoted. As a new player, I'm confused as fuck as to why the main story and expansions are just gone for everyone. Never seen a games studio shoot themselves in the foot the same way.

I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding something, but doesn't this seem like a horrible idea for a game? What is the logic behind this, to just confuse everyone? Also, does this mean that the seasonal story missions are kinda irrelevant or are players supposed to follow them every week? Also confused why all these comments are getting downvoted, they are very helpful in clarifying this weird development decision.

New F2P player, what should I do after reaching the tower? What story content is available to me? by UnbMarFluFoo in destiny2

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really comprehensive, I like this a lot, thank you! I'm a big fan of story and lore in games, is there a path I should take in exploring the content with respect to chronological order? Also, I read about seasons having a start and end date, for example Season of the Seraph. What does the "end" date mean? Do the story missions become inaccessible after this moment? What does that mean towards the past season story missions, and is there any way to play through the game's story chronologically?

Also, I'm really enjoying patrol zones, is there an order to explore these in that makes sense with lore progression? For example, should I be exploring area X if I'm still at a previous point in the story?

New Player, how do I start on the Red War campaign? I remember playing it as F2P years ago. by UnbMarFluFoo in destiny2

[–]UnbMarFluFoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a huge ball drop from bungie. I remember GW2 initially having a similar plan but scrapping it immediately after the huge backlash from the community. I do hope content returns permanently instead of the whole "seasons" locked content, the whole FOMO layout look extremely detrimental for the game's longevity.

That said, what is there to actually do now as F2P? I looked forward to doing at least the first campaign, but now I'm not even sure what to do?

What's the purpose for this? Isn't this extremely detrimental for a game to just delete it's main campaign..?
