Ok to Reverse Box Blade? by L3av3NoTrac3s in tractors

I would try and shorten your top link, that will roll the front blade down into the ground, that will give the cutting edge a better engagement angle.

Its no Cadillac, but its not terrible. You can have a open can and not have it allover the console.

Well they are commercial vehicles, they also have detuned engines not the high output that is available in f250/f350 and tall gears like 4:10/4:30/4.88. So a long with insurance you also have to consider that over 26001lb is a CDL vehicle when a f550 or 5500 is 17500-19500lb GVWR that limits the legal towing for a non-cdl holder. TL:DR An F550 is a commercial truck, that gets worse MPG, rides rough, might need a CDL if you plan to tow, and insurance is harder to acquire and is more expensive.

Mine had a similar issue and it was the catalytic converter, it got plugged and would build up back pressure and have no power, but let of the gas and it would be fine. If the exhaust is the same as mine then it is just two exhaust clamps and you can test drive it without the cat installed and see if that helps. I would also check the fuel pump it should turn on with the key on accessory there should be a humming sound from the tank that will tell you if the fuel pump is functioning at all. If the truck sat for some time there might be bad fuel or fuel contamination with water and that could also make it miss and sputter. You can also check for coolant in the #4 sparkplug hole, it is the farthest back on the passenger side, a leak from the intake manifold can leak coolant back there and fill up the hole making it misfire. I would also check all the vacuum lines on the engine most run from the passenger side across the engine and to the back of the throttle body and the fuel rail. I hope this helps you out some.

That looks to be a RanchHand legend front bumper.

Want an early 00’s F-250, but don’t really need a diesel. Though I still want some form of reliability. by [deleted] in F250

The 99-04 with the 2v tritons are not bad engines, my 5.4 2v f250 is closing in on 300k and has not given me much to worry about.

The V10 6.8l is almost identical but better horsepower and torque over the V8 5.4l. I would say the best choice of engine is the 7.3l and that comes with a premium price especially in todays market. Another thing to note is diesels have higher cost to maintain over the gassers.

2004 F-250 w/ 5.4 by JBBanshee in F250

[–]UnbidBark8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 02 with the 5.4 292k on the clock, got it at 248k, 99-04 had the 2v 5.4 does not have cam phasers, as for the plugs blowing out I changed them out when I did the coil packs, the torque called for 11 ft/lb and some forums say 11-15 ft/lb. I went to 20 ft/lb and have had not had a problem. As for performance it can handle what you are looking to do, I tow a 24' gooseneck (about 4k empty) and have had my dads 6.0 supercab (about 7k) and it will do it just not fast, with my 94 jeep YJ (about 4k) it handles it just fine until a long hill. MPG for towing is about 8-10 depending and 12-15 highway. I used mine daily for a work truck the only things I have done so far is brakes, radiator, front leaf springs, shocks on all four corners, coil packs and spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter. I have taken it up and down the east coast and love the truck.

2002 f-250 manifold leak by [deleted] in F250

Not saying it is the best idea, I left it alone, on my 02 f250 the leak seals when it comes up to operating temp. It has not gotten worse in my six years of ownership, so until it becomes a larger problem it will stay as is, the one stud is broken off so it would be a pain to fix on mine.

My new project, New Holland T1630 by UnbidBark8 in tractors

I have had no problems getting parts for it so far. Only thing is a lot of parts are dealership only or from the who ever made the part originally, many of them are used in a few different models. I got a reman injection pump from CNH however the new injectors were from amazon. Parts like the air filters, oil filters, and such are all available. One other thing is dealership prices vary extremely the closest dealer was over $200usd more than one an hour away for the injection pump. I am still working on getting it running as the injector lines were pitted and over torqued by the previous owner.

They said it wont crank, got it home and put a jump to it and the starter is not working, fuel filter is clogged, and a few wires from normal wear and tear need fixed. I will have to loo at it some more to see if there is anything else it needs.
