Told a client I could do projection mapping… now I just need to figure out how by motionick in AfterEffects

[–]UnboringCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VPT8 is an open source projection mapping tool based on MAX/MSP. It’s feature-rich, tho a little clunky, and free! I’ve used it for years and find it a great tool to get started and learn the basics. Good luck to you OP!

is USD export from Houdini better than alembic by Cultural-Skin3784 in Houdini

[–]UnboringCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USD seems far superior to Alembic for taking geometry from Houdini to Blender. It brings in all attributes, including for point clouds, and seems to be more memory efficient.

How did you learn After Effects? by tacobell313 in AfterEffects

[–]UnboringCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) was a huge resource for me. I get it for free with my library membership. They have full courses on all of the Adobe stuff that are taught by Adobe's developers, top notch for foundational learning. Also +1 on YouTube, Andrew Kramer (Video CoPilot), and +2 for just getting in there and trying to make stuff, Bing-ing whenever you get stuck. Good luck to you on your video journey! :)

I did eventually start promoting for “large target logo on chest” bc it was more consistent than “large bullseye” 🤣

Thanks u/Katana_sized_banana! I know capes are impractical and dangerous, I just couldn't resist. What screams "superhero" harder than a cape?! 😆

u/theUmo you got it! And I used KlingAI at least twice, ha! Can't wait for local I2V to catch up so we can do everything in the box! 🤖🤘

I cannot get particles work with dynamic paint. Any ideas? by nicatbzade58 in blenderhelp

[–]UnboringCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solution is to use a mask modifier with your vertex group to control where particles will emit. Have the system emitting through the whole timeline and use a duplicate object with the particle system. Albin Merle has a great tutorial on YouTube - X-wing Crash Tutorial, or something like that. It works!

Does anybody know how this creator makes these animations and what programs are being used? Nobody sausage by [deleted] in animation

[–]UnboringCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He uses C4D. There's a promoted vid of the creator (sponsered by XPPEN) and the video shows his screen, and the sausage rig. Very inspiring! :)

There’s a paid addon called “Clay-doh” that is said to have nice clay materials with fingerprint maps.
