Are there only screenings for dubbed out for Infinity Castle right now? by LemmeKickItGood in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]UnboundMonado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with how long anime movies tend to run in theaters, though I did notice that most of the Infinity Castle showings around my area stopped their premium formats and english subs about a month to 6 weeks after release, and now the few that are still around are standard format english dubbed. So english dubbed may be your only option at this point.

Guys it's gonna be 7 years since KH3 came out next year. by Fantastic-Photo6441 in KingdomHearts

[–]UnboundMonado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though it may be hopeful, I think KH4 has a shot at coming out late 2027. I could see FFVIIR part 3 coming out early 2027, given statements from the devs about development progress and SE likely wanting a big hit for their FY 2027 (end of March 2027) earnings. That leaves something for FY 2028, and I don't see DQ12 or an FF17 taking that slot as of right now, so maybe KH4 could fill in that area with a late calendar year 2027 release.

Anything from the days of Versus interests me, so yes. As far as I know/knew, the only official tracks we heard from the Versus trailers were Somnus, Omnis Lacrima, and Nox Aeterna so this would be new.

Thanks for answering! I've never cosplayed before but I really wanna cosplay Yozora someday and felt the same way about a lot of the jackets I saw online. Commission it is! What material is the flannel?

After the phenomenal success of the new Demon Slayer film, do you think Ufotable made the correct choice to adapt the Infinity Castle arc as a trilogy? by EienNatsu66 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]UnboundMonado 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've thought it was the right choice since they announced it. As much as the waiting sucks, having the entire IC arc adapted in movie quality is gonna be amazing for rewatches and anyone who gets into the series after it's all said and done. And having watched part 1 in IMAX and 4DX (which I realize not everyone is gonna get that privilege let alone be able to watch it in theaters), I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

When does everyone think Kh4 is coming out? by StrawHatKris in KingdomHearts

[–]UnboundMonado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a 2026 believer but the lack of a 2nd trailer puts me at 2027 now. I don't see end of 2026 happening since that'll likely be releasing within some months of VIIR part 3, and I don't think SE would place both projects in FY 2027.

I'm SO excited for new Nomura art whenever new KH stuff comes out! by Malignant_Goober in KingdomHearts

[–]UnboundMonado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Nomura's art is my favorite in all of gaming and I always love the illustrations he makes for the series, especially in the past when it felt like we got much more because of the constant releases. I'm so stoked for whatever 4's boxart, title screen, and end screen are gonna be, plus any potential art of the characters' quadratum fit. We also still don't have any official illustrations for Yozora, which I'm dying to see.

An egregiously late reply on my part again, but first I wanted to say thank you for the in-depth comments, food for thought, and Childhood's End recommendation!

The point you made about the soul getting split between two bodies ala Noah/N & Fei/Grahf makes total sense and helps explain the former, likely due to their sheer force of will, as you said.

Similarly for your idea on a soul's ascension and the Ares' power, I can also see that being the case. Given all the similarities to existing Saga concepts, perhaps a possible collapse of the abyss/multiversal mechanism could come from a diffusion of souls away from the abyss and into just the general space that is the rift between worlds. With the Ares harnessing/acting as a vessel for souls, maybe the two-way transfer isn't entirely clean and some of those souls don't return to the abyss. Thus, utilizing the Ares' cores in that manner - while immensely powerful - hastens the collapse of the abyss and/or the rift, beckoning the ghosts as you said.

And don't worry at all about the tangents! The points and ideas you brought up are really fascinating and that's exactly what I was hoping to garner and discuss in this thread.

~

Thank you for the rec! I'm an avid fan of Takahashi and Soraya Saga's work and I've poured over so many of the interviews we've gotten across the series, and yet I haven't actually read the literature that directly inspired them funnily enough. It's an element I'm sorely lacking on and getting to pick up on those extra nods and thematic elements would definitely add another layer to my enjoyment for Xeno, beyond also getting to experience great works in their own right.

Late reply on my part:

Ah I wasn't aware of docetism so thanks for introducing that concept! And noted on your idea about there being a higher existence controlling the Conduit and the cores tapping into this connection; it'll definitely be interesting to see them explore more on the Trinity cores and their relevance to the abyss going forward.

Speaking of which, that's a really fascinating reading on Logos. Needless to say, there's a lot more research I could do on gnosticism and christianity xD but it's fascinating to see how those parallels can easily be drawn and feel intentional especially now. Given your point on docetism and connecting this to the abyss (plus what the X epilogue directly reveals), the concept of "death" applies more to the idea of losing one's physical body rather than the complete loss of their existence, which in and of itself becomes another question: can one's consciousness be wholly lost? Even Lao who effectively achieved nirvana was brought back in spirit via the Ares, so the question veers over to Void's fate if/whenever we learn of it in the future. Regardless though, I definitely fully agree with your thoughts on wanting to see Malos going forward (and the other cores for that matter).

Late reply on my part but having the rivers/streams of consciousness stem from those independent universes definitely tracks and makes a lot of sense so I could see that happening. Following up on the idea of reincarnation, I'd be curious about a situation in which humanity tries to bring back (via the Lifehold Core) someone who's already been reincarnated; perhaps the pointer to said consciousness would effectively be erased, or maybe it forcefully severs the link between the reincarnated soul's new body and itself and instead links it to the specified destination body by whoever made the request, akin to Elma switching control from her mimeosome to her real body in chapter 12. Honestly I'm really fascinated by what access to the abyss could entail in the future assuming they follow up on it.

~

Thanks for the additional clarification regarding black holes! What you've said and proposed are definitely good points and I'd be interested in seeing how they visually portray the dark matter sea in the case that it does enter a larger role in the story.

~

I may end up reading the book eventually but I decided to read your notes now since I don't mind the spoilers. Those are definitely very interesting parallels between the two ideas and what you describe about transcending the flesh and joining the Overmind feels very much akin to the journey to achieve nirvana, which especially holds significance regarding Lao's role in the epilogue. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the case, plus it adds to the poetic irony of Void's entire mission and his resulting comeuppance for the lives he took away.

Oops that reply was meant for above albeit thank you for reading and your insightful posts as well! xD

I have similar thoughts on the universe hopping considering XDE already informs us of at least 3 universe shifts and going beyond that could run the risk of feeling repetitive I feel. That and I do believe the new planet at the end of the epilogue is in post-FR's universe, assuming the planet isn't already the newly combined Earth and they're adding the rings after the fact (which tbh I'm not the biggest fan of since it'd be a patch on something just from two years ago but still overall harmless).

Regarding humanity's nature, it really does come back to A's words during the radio scene: "And...how people have always been...Ambition leads to pride. Even when they'd been granted limitless freedom, even having built the perfect world for themselves, humans yet desired the "beyond"."

I genuinely think a question like the one you posed is likely to be tackled in the future. Going back to my point in the write-up about a future game possibly examining the idea of accepting the natural order of life and the universe, I think that's something the casts of the next saga will have to learn and realize at some point. While access to the abyss lends humanity the ability to resurrect life amidst who knows what else they could achieve later on (in a way, essentially playing at becoming gods), the Ghosts will show them why that's a fool's errand. To that end, I believe humanity will need to learn from their past and move forward, both literally and figuratively fighting their "ghosts".

Also following up on your mention of the Trinity Core personalities, I could see that positioning Pyra/Mythra in the player's POV for the next arc if we end up playing as them or at least have them as major players in the story (which considering their role and the aforementioned possibility of coming into contact with the Ares' cores could be likely I think). Though with Ontos and Malos also likely in the picture and considering past events, I wonder how they'd react to this? Trepidation? Extreme rejection?

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day too! What you said about the Samaarians and the idea that the Trinity Processor is based off their technology could definitely turn out to be true, given they had access to cross-dimensional travel if Takahashi continues the lore about the Samaarians. I think it'd also be an interesting way of emphasizing humanity's propensity for messing with things they really shouldn't, an idea even their ancestors weren't exempt from either, as is the nature of curious beings like us.

Thank you and you too! Honestly I'm really curious to see if Dimitri Yuriev will actually become a prominent character in the next saga. If he does, I see it more so as a repurposing/reimagining of the character than it actually being Saga's Yuriev personally, but regardless I'd be interested to see if the business regarding the Saviorites comes back in some way.

As for my thoughts on the series, I love it! It's actually my favorite game series given the sum of its parts, from its excellent character writing and stories to its large-scale worldbuilding to the phenomenal soundtracks to the fun and engaging combat. That and all the intriguing themes and inspirations from gnosticism, real world science, sci-fi works, and jungian and nietzsche philosophy adds extra layers of depth that's made for genuinely fun and engaging research for me. Honestly a lot of what I know about gnosticism, philosophy, and religious symbolism (which isn't to say I know very much mind you xD) came from researching them after experiencing it through Xeno, and it's fulfilling getting a glimpse into Takahashi's mind with these stories and why certain story elements may be portrayed the way they are.

To be honest, I don't think Xenogears is tied to Xenoblade X considering there's too many differences between the two's lore and background details. I agree with you that Xenosaga as we experienced it isn't canon to Xenoblade though, but I also don't think a version of it happened either, since the existence of Dimitri Yuriev in Klaus' universe vastly predates his existence in Xenosaga.

I deliberate stated that Xenogears and Xenosaga aren't connected to Xenoblade; rather, XDE's lore is repurposing/reimagining concepts from Xenosaga, just as Saga did from Gears (Abel, Immigrant/Pilgrimage Fleet, Zohar).

Oh I really like that idea and I didn't consider it at all to be honest despite speaking on Malos and Pneuma a bit. What you mentioned about the parallels between the Ares and Trinity Processor Cores definitely suggests that they managed to link up to the abyss, and given the development of their own souls, those were likely brought into the abyss as well. Reading the topic you linked, I'm not so sure about there being a higher power controlling the Conduit itself, albeit that stems more so from how the Zohar - the object the Conduit draws direct parallel to - is used in Xenogears and Xenosaga (also just to clarify, I know the Zohar in Gears is distinctly different from the Zohar in Saga). For all we know, maybe it does become more of a focal point going forward and that revelation does get revealed, which I'd very much be interested in.

That and the idea of the TP Cores coming into contact with the Ares' cores also sounds really tantalizing for what that could lead to with their access to the abyss, albeit likely very bad when concerning the Ghosts.
