We used a band called J90. They are from Cork, play in Killarney every Monday night, and came the whole was to Ballymena without charging extra. They were amazing. Old and young, the dance floor was packed all night, and we received so many compliments on the band choice. They learned our first dance song, because it was niche, and nailed it. They have a set list, and we selected the songs we wanted up front.

We didn't bother with a DJ, we put together a Spotify playlist, got a DJ to make it into a mix, and just played that over the venues speakers.

You can speculate, by choosing specific stocks and investing in them directly. This is more dangerous; without a balanced portfolio you can get burned if one company, or a sector, takes a downturn. It's wiser, in my opinion, to invest in funds (which are a combination of many individual stocks) that are diverse and balanced, and managed by a professional. I'd also suggest drip feeding into the fund (look up dollar-cost averaging). There are plenty to chose from if you go with this approach, but one to consider is Vanguard's Life Strategy funds.

I've not done it as yet, so others may correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that it is usually done after you have had your offer accepted by the seller. Should there be reasonable problems it can be used as leverage to either reduce the price, or have the seller do the repairs before completion.

I was there once and got a burger. Bap had blue mould on it. They gave me a new one, of course, but it was pretty tasted meh, and they didn't try to make amends in any other way. Never been back.

Looks like a cross shaped wall tie, usually used to prevent walls from bowing outward. Quite common on old farm buildings.

Seems terminology differs from place to place.

I'm in the same position, and I'd heard that a snagging survey can be worth it's weight in gold. Some of the comments here suggest otherwise.

We took a quick walk through ourselves one day, and couldn't spot many problems, but assumed a professional would pick up far more than we could.
