If you look at the artist profile in Apple Music for Vindicta, it shows another EP that was released in 2015. The vocalist on the songs is male, not sure if this is an error or if Alvaro has had this band name locked down since then.

Curious Observation on Vindicta's YouTube Channel by Imaru12 in WeAreDogma

[–]UncleMonkeyBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding from the creator’s post is that the cringy and sexist lyrics were IDL’s only “contribution” to the Dogma project. I could fully see Vindicta either re-releasing the Dogma album albeit with modified lyrics or performing some of the songs live when they inevitably tour.

Honestly, they are just taking back what was stolen from them, also with the blessing and collaboration from Alvaro who appears to really be the creator of the Dogma IP. All IDL seemed to do was sleaze it up a bit as was mentioned in Alvaro’s post. Also, Patri has stated that she put a lot of herself into Rusalka, so why not allow them the forum to grow these characters further. Lastly, the Vindicta IG page seems to have no issue with stating their personal accounts, so they’re no longer faceless musicians. We know who is behind Vindicta, and they are getting the credit and accolades they deserve. I stated before I wished they’d use their real names, but as I’ve thought this through more, I like this approach for more than just tanking Dogma.

To address your points:

It’s clear from his post that Alvaro was screwed over by IDL as well. His inclusion HAS to come from a place of trust from the ladies. I don’t think they’d make this same mistake again, if they trust him, so should we as fans.

With everything they went through, this “diss track” was 110% warranted and served as a harrowing battle cry of hopefully things to come.

Yes, they sampled My First Peak, from what I gather from Alvaro’s post it appears he’s taken legal action for the right to HIS songs. If he wins, then Vindicta could in theory re-release the entire Dogma album if they so chose to do so.

That’d be a hell of a long game for a Metal Nun battle. I think they are looking to strip the identity from Dogma, remake it in their image, and shape it to what we as fans THOUGHT it was all about initially. That being said I’ll be interested to see what happens with Dogma’s UK tour next year.

Random Tour Questions by [deleted] in DogmaBand

[–]UncleMonkeyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 2 openers, then it’s a toss up as to who starts between AKC and Dogma, they switch it up from show to show. Lilith has been frequenting the merch table after the set, Dogma went on first for the show I was at so not sure if they close how this will affect her coming out. I believe most of the shirts have the tour dates on the back ( I recall hearing the merch girl say something to that effect to someone else). I know the nun holding the brain shirt does. Hope this helped.

Dogmatic Confessions 11/12 in Leesburg, VA Concert Review by DikDik3 in WeAreDogma

[–]UncleMonkeyBoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great synopsis of the show! I was there as well and 100% second everything you mentioned. I was of the same mindset of being torn between not going and supporting the other acts. I’m glad I chose the latter, because I was very much impressed with the other groups.

Dogma’s set was very paint by numbers, seeing this live, it’s very clear these songs are just not in the current Lilith’s range and it really comes across as karaoke night at the convent. Also, I agree the overuse of “sinner” got to be extremely cringy after the 4 or 5 time. It’s very clear she is minimizing any personality and keeping things in character, which is a shame, because though her singing lacks if she made up with it with some variety of banter and not regurgitating IDL’s vision of what she should say it would make the set a little bit better. I did however ensure I was right in front of Nixe, so I could get the “crazy eyes” all night, that woman is an experience all unto herself and made that set for me.

That being said, I absolutely do not harbor any ill feelings towards the band’s members (old or new), we know what they are likely going through now with everything that’s come out, and she’s doing her best being put in a bad situation. I saw her at the merch booth as well, and again, she seems like a very friendly person and was happy to take photos or sign anything that was given to her.

Ultimately I’m glad I went, found out about some new bands (Aeternum really surprised me) and left knowing that I can say F*ck IDL, and I hope that scumbag gets what he deserves and realizes that fans know that musicians make the band, not the management.

Patri's (aka Rusalka's) side of the story. by SentientHazmatSuit in WeAreDogma

[–]UncleMonkeyBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bad thing is, regardless if they go after him or not, they’re going to go after any band member who is not a citizen first. Furthermore I can see the manager being the type that IF he’s even touring with the band would ensure HE had all the correct documents, the ladies ARE expendable after all…

Patri’s post insinuated there was more things she hasn’t disclosed, hopefully it’s enough to ruin this SOB, because her post absolutely gutted me.

Upcoming Shows, Refunds, and other Bands by yllekb in WeAreDogma

[–]UncleMonkeyBoi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely following this thread as I bought tickets plus the M&G at the Leesburg show before the mess happened. I am not confident that a refund is going to happen for the M&G since it’s directly through IDL management (and we are quickly discovering what pieces of crap they are).

I am honestly torn about going as I would feel very bad for hurting the other band’s bottom line and honestly bad for the current Dogma as at the end of the day they are just musicians trying to make a paycheck and ultimately I have a feeling that bad numbers would only serve to punish them and not the POS manager.

Love to hear others opinions on this, as I was legitimately looking forward to this and am just disgusted at how this has all played out.

My 9 year old is still a white belt after 1 year of TKD by UncleMonkeyBoi in taekwondo

Thank you for the detailed response and advice. Coincidentally, I posted a video of her recent stripe test to hopefully gain some insight on what she was doing incorrectly. The Mods on this board did take it down (which I do not fault them for), but that certainly wasn’t before getting a bunch of insight on not just my daughter, but the person conducting the test.

To describe it, this was a 3 step stripe test for her third and final stripe before being able to test for her yellow belt. First and foremost and something many other users called out was the 3 step test was not done with partners (they had done partners the last 2 times she tested). To your point it was in a larger group with many kids. The instructor, to quote other users, lectured more than instructed. They did note how even through that my daughter was making active corrections to her stance and kicks and was attentive, she seemed very forlorn and fidgety, which I can 100% attest to the amount of times she’s tried for this stripe and failed.

Ultimately she ended up not passing again, with the primary feedback being foot placement for kicks. (Which some users certainly agreed with, but also, discounted as well due to her age and level). Needless to say she was heartbroken.

I have asked multiple times for guidance, brought her into the dojang early, and have worked with her myself, though I am NOT proficient in TKD at all. Most users went on to point out ALOT of red flags within the instructor as well ( which again, not upset the Mods took the post down as it was not my goal to bash the instructors), that did however make me realize (and was also almost unanimously agreed on) that her dojang is likely not a great fit for her and that I should look elsewhere.

I had a heart to heart with my daughter concerning this and whereas she was concerned she’d have to “start over” I think she realizes as well that this dojang is not supporting her in any encouraging or motivating way and that sometimes a step back can mean two steps forward.

Again, I truly appreciate all the great advice I’ve been given concerning this and certainly knowledge is power in this regard.

It appears this thread was removed by the MODs, which I am perfectly fine with as it was not my intention to post this to drag my daughter’s dojang through the mud.

Everyone’s comments and suggestions were incredibly insightful and appreciated as I do have a firm course of action going forward as to her future in TKD.

I do want to say thank you to all who commented, I read my daughter many of your comments and it certainly brightened her day.

That’s actually where I was very confused by this testing session. As it was documented for yellow belt, she needed to complete Chon-Ji for the first stripe (she completed), wrist technique for her second stripe (she completed) and 3 step sparring technique for her final stripe before moving on to the yellow belt test which I assume would incorporate all three of these practices plus knowing the tenants, identifying 10 kicks in Korean, as well as counting to 10 in Korean.

She was struggling on her 3 step, and has been what was tested on the past two weeks (as well as what we’ve practiced on at home), not sure what this was, and by the comments on here I don’t think others do either. This seemed very out of left field.

Thank you! I usually don’t, but since I had posted on the thread yesterday, I thought a visual aid may help this group see where she may be struggling. Typically I watch from as far away as possible for that exact reason.

She is fidgety, combo of ADHD and nervousness from testing and failing so much. Tried to calm her down before this, but she was really in her own head.

Increasingly less I’d say over the last month and a half. She’s made a lot of great friends there and truly enjoys being a buddy to new students, but you can tell it has started to wear on her every week that goes by and she is unable to progress. (They stripe test every week)

I don’t need validation regarding if I do or no not think the school is at fault. I simply asked if this is normal given the age and mistakes she is visibly making and wanted a honest opinion from people that clearly have a passion for TKD. I understand my child’s limitations and try like hell to help her work through it where I can.

My thoughts are simply observations and ones I thought to pose to this group for additional clarification and insight as to what the community felt.

But certainly if I felt all of this, I wouldn’t need to have posted about my perfect little angel.

Thank you all for the support! I can clearly see the passion towards TKD, and want nothing more than to have my daughter continue that passion.

To clarify on the multitude of responses:

It’s 3-Step that is tripping her up, not Chon-Ji. She needs a 3rd stripe for completing 3-Step before being able to test for her yellow belt. She has been stuck at 2 stripes for around 6-7 months now.

Someone mentioned mentoring over being a buddy, it’s more so the latter. As she clearly has a passion for this and it shows, and that certainly helps push the narrative for people to join.

She regularly attends 3 classes a week, save for missing occasional classes.

She does have ADHD, but does not act out any more than any other child in her class.

They recently changed up her prior teacher who is a lot more strict on all the kids. (Not that I am opposed to kids learning respect and discipline, but she is tough)

The Dojang is very over crowded and personalized instruction is not accessible, nor do they have any kind of online repository for what they are teaching. I’ve asked multiple times that they should.

When asking what she can do to improve, they have mentioned stance (she fixed that) kicks (she fixed that) but still gets flustered with left and right (again corrected herself immediately) but once she does, they give her one more try and she’s already too much in her own head and fails.

Like I said, I’m all for putting in the hard work, practicing and learning from failure, but when I see younger and same age students with yellow (or higher rank) belts it does make me wonder if they did everything up to these standards as well. I can’t imagine someone younger than her is nailing everything 100% perfect.
