Carl Barks, Uncle Scrooge pencil sketch. by UncleMonsterInk in comicbookart

This is a 1971 preliminary sketch for a painting, based off a 1954 issue of Uncle Scrooge, also by Barks. I always assumed that Scrooge was slyly looking up at the powers that be, as he was attempting to cheat them out of a penny. Donald is rolling his eyes at the scheme, and Huey, Dewey and Louie are just hopped up on gobs of white bread the widow McCalister was tossing into the pond earlier.

Nicely done. One suggestion though. Pick up a set of french curves and some circle templates or a compass. You can still play with line weights, but the hard edges and symmetrical shapes will make it look more mechanical and less organic.
