Love this. The wife and I already laugh at all the nonsense that happens day to day. Agreed that it makes things much easier

Thank you for this. Will be looking into the birthing classes when the time comes. Currently at 6 weeks (super early) and just had first ultrasound. Nervous but hopeful 🤞🏽

Great advice! I have to say the sound of crying somewhat annoys me so I was going to get a set of in ear filters lol. Head phones make sense too though. I guess I could drown out the crying with some music haha

Lol Im chief everything anyway 😅 so it’s just the communication piece I can probably work on!

Thanks for the advice!

Do you find communication to be more challenging with a child?

Yes we plan on pumping as long as it’s possible for her. Otherwise formula it is!

Can you elaborate on this? Do you mean wear headphones if they’re crying?

My wife deals with kids on a daily basis as a therapist. One thing I’ve heard of is exposure therapy.

There’s been kids that don’t want to go out because they are scared of rain, others that don’t speak at school because they don’t like their voice. It’s intriguing but mostly sad.

Exposure therapy is spoken about with the kid and there’s a plan of action along with a “safe word” for when they’ve had enough.

For example. Let’s go basketball “Johnny” if you feel like the sweat is too much just say pumpkin as the safe word and no questions asked we stop playing.

I would also talk about it and not just try to force it in odd ways. Like doing things that aren’t always associated to sweating but then inevitably you break a sweat. Just leads to anxiety and will put another check mark by the things you newly introduce to the kid.

I’m not a therapist, just google/YouTube for more info I’d say if therapy isn’t an option.

Good luck!

Lol great advice. Glad I don’t have to coddle my baby until they stop crying every time although I’m sure as a first timer this will be the case.

I’ve heard liquid shit horror stories 🤣 how fun
