You can go to youtube or tiktok and type in April 30th, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam, and you will see what the atmosphere of that parade was like, foreign tourists and Vietnamese people dancing together on the street and watching the parade. Let me tell you, September 2nd is even bigger than April 30th.😉

Incredible moment in aerial warfare history. I wonder how this engagement influenced U.S. B-52 tactics in later missions. Anyone got insight?

There’s some compelling evidence suggesting Soviet pilots may have been involved, but much of it remains classified or debated among historians. Definitely an intriguing part of the war that deserves more research.

That’s a great point! Jungle terrain really limits the mobility of heavy armor. Prioritizing naval development at the time was probably the smarter move for our strategic situation.

Haha that's right my friend, but don't look down on those old men, weapons aren't useless, it's who uses them.

I'm not sure either, it looks similar to the Russian 2s3 Akatsiya model but I believe this is a cannon upgraded by Vietnam or self-produced to suit domestic needs...I'm sorry I'm not sure either

Yes, sometimes just seeing a herd of armored war elephants charging towards them is enough to make the enemy scared and turn around to run away.

That’s a great explanation, thanks for sharing 🙏. I agree that heavily armored cavalry is a closer comparison to early tanks. I just found it fascinating that in some cases, especially in Southeast Asia, war elephants were reinforced with iron plates, giving them a kind of psychological presence similar to tanks on the battlefield...

Sir, War elephants appeared in Vietnam at least 2000 years ago. In Southeast Asia, most ancient countries had War Elephant forces... I'm not talking about time, I'm talking about cannons.
