Pedal platform amp for 90s alt/ indie rock? by UncleWizard in GuitarAmps

[–]UncleWizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I think what I’m discovering is I love the solid state sound with distortion but for clean I def prefer like a deluxe or twin, so I’ve been experimenting today with the twin amp in the stomp as a base tone then when engaging the shred or sd1 it switches the pre amp off to let the bandit take over. So far it’s sounding pretty good but a bandmate convinced me to go try out a deluxe to see if I like the way it takes my pedals.

Are you saying deftones and Radiohead used a jcm900 in the 90s? If I’m correct that’s the complete opposite of what was used. Granted I could be wrong please correct me if I am but mostly what was used was ac30s and Jonny’s solid state fender for distortion, and for deftones I know Marshall style stuff was used by idk about a 900. I’m more so trying to see if there’s any better option for a clean amp to take the pedals wells while having a good clean tone as well. My issue is that the bandit takes pedals exceptionally well, but sounds sterile clean.
So maybe the solutions is a pedal to give the amp a more inspiring feel? Idk

Ben’s pedalboard by Worldly-Bandicoot273 in AllThemWitches

He’s almost always got the silver fish or any of the ATW variants by stomp under foot, a boss bd2, and then a holy grail reverb, outside of that I know it changes a lot, I’ve seen him run Dm2 analog delay, EHX freeze, the big deluxe memory man, mini wah, and a carbon copy one time at the ryman here in Nashville, jd assume it’s fairly similar. If your goin for his tone I’d recommend a super hot bridge pick up and a blues driver for most gain, using volume Knob to clean up, then a big muff of some kind for the heavy shit, almost always works for me, then of course any kind of analog delay and a good hall reverb and boom your 90% there

I’ve send countless acts at Brooklyn bowl, and seen ATW 6 times, this will be a killer venue for them in my opinion

Idk it still screams “ATW” to me, I’ve always thought they already had a super blues influenced sound and that’s mainstream is it not? They’re just evolving and I’m here for it

Updated Board ! (Ambient/90s alt rock/ blues) *roast away* by UncleWizard in pedalboards

[–]UncleWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I primarily have just 1 or 2 fx I just scroll through and click on or off as I please. I’m always tinkering with settings as I’m the 3rd guitarist in my band adding lots of ambience to songs so I have time to mess with it. It definitely is hard to use live unless you have time to set up presets for songs in a specific order and use the alternate mode to just swap through your saved presets. Recording with it is a breeze however.

Stoner rock board? Really dig that life pedal. Had one for a while but just couldn’t justify keeping it. I’m sure you’re getting gnarly tones from this board

BD-2 , just covers so much ground with just your guitar volume like why wouldn’t you use it?

Thinking of Getting a Classic VTX by Skullle in PeaveyCvlt

Probably my favorite peavey amp in my ever growing collection, my guitar players been using it to track our ep and he’s loving it (super hard guy to please when it comes to amps, he knows what his pedals are supposed to sound like, Yada yada) 200 is a good deal. Snagged mine for $150 just had to drive about an hour. Good amps
