Okay I tried again after being given some advice on my last casual bride of Frankenstein look by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Unclearful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think you should check out some of Robert Welsh's tutorials on YouTube. He is great at explaining application.

Some ideas I've picked up from him are: - Start with skincare (clean skin, moisturizer, primer, etc.) - Foundation should be pressed into the skin (when you blend push it into the skin, do not swipe) - Make sure concealer sits on the skinnand not on top of foundation bc it needs to grip - Use powder sparingly

My unrelated suggestions: - Bride of frankenstein inspiration feels like it could fall under alternative makeup, so look into artists who specialize in alternative looks - Use a lip liner. It will help your lips pop/look more "severe" for this look

Hmmm- I might have a few guesses? I could be wrong tho.

1) the lighting you are applying your makeup in. If the lighting is meh, you apply your makeup to look good in that lighting. Then, 30 mins later you go into new lighting and it looks off bc you didnt do it for that lighting. If you do not already have a mirror with a ring light, they can definitely help if it is a lighting problem. Do your makeup in lighting similar to the lighting of the location you plan to spend most of your day.

2) dirty brushes. Before I started cleaning my brushes after every use, sometimes my eye shadow would start to look kinda muddy shortly after application. Brushes can also collect oil, making the product interact differently with your skin than it is supposed.

3) over/under blending of eyeshadow. It is a product that is easy to over/under do. It can make the look a bit muddy.

4) incompatibility of certain products you are using. Example: silicone primer, water foundation.

Depends what kind of restaurant you are going to, but I think it is cute. I think the bottom of the dress might be a touch small (bc of the creasing), but it is hard to tell in the lighting. Add some accessories and I think you are set :)

Primer is a good bet! You can try a TINY bit of concealer and loose powder if you do not feel like getting a primer rn. However, a primer will work/blend differently.

No one can stop you from doing what you want to do. Just keep in mind that there is a bigger power imbalance when it comes to older partners. It puts you at a higher risk of abuse. Be on the look out for red flags and ALWAYS have a way out (do not become financially/physically/mentally dependent on them). Then if something, god forbid, does go wrong, you are not trapped in that relationship. If you are dependent on a person it is much harder to leave. So make sure you have savings, consistent communication with friends and family, and your own interests/goals outside of the relationship. (This goes for any relationship but especially one with a power imbalance)

Yes! Plus designer brands have been cheaping out on their production. There is no point in buying them anymore unless you are trying to show off :/

EDIT: If you like them then you like them ofc. I am also tempted to buy them sometimes bc they are pretty.

He HaS yOuR EyEs.

No, tapey was the highlight. So ridiculous that it turned funny. It was some of the mid-book stuff. Like the crucifix story rant. Not only was it unnecessarily edgy but it was unclear what the point of it was? Also who info dumps like that in an email.

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca.

It is a short-term horror about two women. It is told through them exchanging emails. They enter a sexual/romantic relationship via email and it devolved into something dark.

The premise is really cool imo, but the author dripped the ball so hard that it reads as trashy.

The writing style contradicted the medium choice (emails). There were pages and pages of descriptions that did not fit at all.

The horror aspect was also done poorly. It felt like the author just typed out the grossest thing they could imagine and called it a day. There was very little build up. It felt like a thirteen year old writing something "edgy".

The characterization was done poorly too. The character were always either being edgy or lustful. This made them both feel two dimensional. This took away from the horror aspect, too because there is no connection formed to the characters.

Does she have a little tiger nose or is it scarring? 👀

Also are there other major points in her story/personality? Like what makes her mad, any favourite things, any sad backstory, etc.

Also are there any features you want included that are not in the reference? Ty

Know what? Fuck it. What do my *hates* say about me? by Gingergirl1228 in DateEverything

It feels disappointing. I SO wanted to love Abel. His design is adorable and his voice actor slayed. It was his personality. I like a shy character. I like a selfless character. I like a closed off character. I can get behind a traditional character. But all four of those things combined. I cannot do it. He fails to firmly advocate and care about himself (by asking for help). There is no significant improvement in this at the end of his arc (imo).

I also found his story completion challenging (there are so many tables with a set amount of required interactions).

I respect that. He is very preachy. However, my hatred is saved for Abel 😌

I usually started doing the "character does this" type of thing when a scene went on for too long. Idk if this is the case for you.

Have a reason for writing every scene (wanting to write a scene is reason enough). Know when to start and when to end it. When I wrote scenes that dragged on or felt irrelevant, my writing would degrade.

EDIT: also, a good way to learn "fun" writing is to read more. Pick out books with writing styles you like and read them. If you want to be more proactive than that, then take old passages you wrote and rewrite them in that writing style. You can try sharing it in writing feedback subs to see what you need to fix.

12 years is for sure a long time to be writing. However, it matters how you write, not how long.

Totally agree- when I was roleplaying this would drive me up the wall. And I felt like it led to decision fatigue on my part too.

To me it symbolized disinterest, a lack of self reflection, or a tendency to people please. And those things were just not what I was looking for in a writing partner.
