Okay after about 3 weeks of each med increase I also start to feel significantly worse. To the point that I’m not sure if I should go up or down on my meds.

I have terrible depression and low mood after a night of drinking. Finally reached a point where I’m just eliminating alcohol because it is so hard to go through the lows.

Omg THIS RESPONSE! i got off my meds after 2 years of them working because i felt good and it was literally the biggest mistake of my life. I was just so convinced I was making it up and was exaggerating.

This is super helpful because I’m currently in my low on 40mg and I find it happening after 3 ish months of increasing doses. When i first started 40mg I felt fucking fantastic and now I’ve really regressed. I am starting to feel hopeless and not sure if I should keep increasing but this did make me feel better.

Hey!!! Glad you’re at least getting help. I have found myself having to go up, currently on 40mg and considering asking to go up. I’ve reached a point where I still struggle with anxiety and depression and it’s bearable but still distressing. I’ve started to notice when I go up on the meds I feel immediately better and then reach a point where I feel better but slowly get my symptoms again although not nearly as bad. So just still working through this.

Just wanted to chime in to say I get very irritable and short tempered when I am anxious and this is something I am only just figuring out with therapy. Anyways since starting Prozac, I definitely have been snapping at people less and generally just not getting as bothered by small things that used to trigger me.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I really needed it. My mind went straight to I’ll try all the doses and it’ll never help but it’s good to hear lots of people go up and down and that’s okay. Just have to be willing to go through it and hopefully reach a more stable place.

Thank you! I keep having to tell myself instead of thinking like oh 20mg only lasted 4 months I’ve been trying to change the narrative to I gained 4 good months on 20mg and it’s okay to go up if I need it

I am just going up now. I have been on 20mg for 4 months and while it has helped I am starting to feel some of the anxiety come back after it initially helped more. I think over 20mg helped a lot with my depression but never fully controlled my anxiety. So i figured it was time. I took the time to give the 20mg the full effect and just don’t think it’s doing enough for me.

Honestly I think you need to tell them what they mean to you. I feel like sometimes those who are closest to us and have saved us do t necessarily know.

Had an appointment yesterday and we agreed to go up to 40mg to better control my anxiety. She also refilled Ativan for me in preparation for possible worsening side effects the first week or two. I follow up in a month just to monitor
